Britney Spears Reflects on Conservatorship in a Now-deleted Audio Recording; "I Felt Like My Family Threw Me Away"
The American Singer Britney Spears' conservatorship has ended. After 13 years of living under a legal arrangement controlling her personal life and finances, now she reflects on it in a lengthy video. Malgorzata Tomczak

The "Gimme More" singer sheds light and reflected on what led up to her 2008 psychiatric hold, mentioning how her family abused her while she was under conservatorship.

The American singer revealed in a now-deleted 22-minute audio recording posted on Youtube that her family literally killed and threw her away. She said that she deserved an award for acting she was okay every single day and thought they were trying to kill her.

In 2008, before she was hauled away, her mom, Lynne Spears, gave her a cryptic warning and suddenly told her that many people were coming to talk to the pop star. Her mother advised her to go to a hotel or something. Four hours later, more than 200 paparazzi were outside her house, videotaping her through an ambulance window, holding her down. The "Toxic" singer knew the entire incident was set up.

The pop star claimed that a woman introduced the idea to her dad, and her mom helped him follow through and made all things possible. She said there were no drugs and alcohol in her system as it was only pure abuse, Inside Edition reported.

The princess of pop's life under conservatorship

Spears reflected how her memories during conservatorship mainly consisted of her not knowing what to do and only following what she was told to do, especially during the four-and-a-half year she hosted a residency in Las Vegas.

She was told she was fat every day and couldn't remember a day, not feeling demoralized as they made her feel that she was nothing. Spears said she just went along with it because she was scared that time. She struggled to watch her dancers performing and having fun at night as they performed every night. Also, Jamie Spears, the singer's dad, had strict rules under conservatorship which prohibited her from doing what her dancers do.

She remembered saying no to a dance move during one of the rehearsals, but the next day, she was told that she had to be sent away to a facility. She also had to announce on Instagram that the reason was her dad's sickness and her needing treatment.

The "Piece of Me" singer expressed how mad she was at her mom because she heard when reporters would call her, and her mother would innocently hide in the house and won't speak a word for her. Lynne always told the reporters that she didn't know what her daughter was experiencing, but they always prayed for her. This made Britney even madder, as according to her, her family knows everything about her, per People.

Spears said her mother and sister didn't step up to help

The "Hold me Closer" singer noted that one of the most challenging parts of her experience was that she felt her family did not support her and did not fight for her freedom in ways she believed they could have.

Spears still couldn't process that her family went along with it for so long, and their response would always be, "We didn't know."

According to BBC News, the conservatorship was set up in 2008 when the "Oops I Did It Again" singer faced a public mental health crisis.
