Thousands of rock fans flocked to Wembley Stadium in London, England, on Saturday, September 3, for the first of two tribute concerts dedicated to the late great Taylor Hawkins, according to NBC News.
Hawkins, the drummer for popular band Foo Fighters, was found dead at 50 in Bogotá, Colombia, back in March.
Dozens of celebrities participated in the tribute concert, including Roger Taylor and Brian May from Queen, Mark Ronson, Liam Gallagher, and Dave Chappelle. However, one special guest stole the show, as Hawkins' 16-year-old son, Shane, played alongside the band. The teen joined Foo Fighters for one of its biggest hits, "My Hero," taking his dad's place on the drums.
Shane dazzles with drum performance
In a video captured from the concert's livestream and shared on Twitter, Shane gave a passionate performance alongside his dad's longtime bandmates. Frontman Dave Grohl looked on with pride as Shane ended the song with an impressive drum solo, according to Rolling Stone.
Fans took to social media to pay tribute to Shane's swashbuckling performance. One Twitter user wrote that Foo Fighters legend Grohl looked like someone with happiness and pure joy as he performed with Hawkins' son.
The user described the teen's performance at Wembley as one of the most poignant moments in rock history. Another fan penned a touching message to the teen, writing that he thinks Shane Hawkins just shone brightest in the tribute concert.

Family affair for Foo Fighters in a tribute concert in England
The tribute concert was a family affair for the legendary rock band as Grohl's 16-year-old daughter, Violet, also took the stage in the tribute concert. She sang several covers, including The Zutons' "Valerie," as well as "Last Goodbye" and "Grace" by Jeff Buckley.
Grohl, who accompanied many of the acts alongside the rest of Foo Fighters, was visibly emotional later in the evening as he could not hold back tears while singing the band's hit song "Times Like These," according to People Magazine.
He could be seen several times with tears on his face. Grohl even paused the song to compose himself before continuing to sing some of the hit's emotional lines.
After Taylor Hawkins unexpectedly passed away during a festival in Colombia, the Foo Fighters announced that all of their coming tour dates would be canceled.
The band wrote on Instagram that they were sorry and shared the disappointment that they won't be seeing one another as planned. They encouraged their fans to grieve, heal, and appreciate all the memories and music they have made together.
