The Maroon 5 lead singer denied that he cheated on his wife, yet confessed that he has had bad judgments and has crossed the line in marriage. A source revealed this is all because he likes attention.
The source, who is close to Adam Levine, told People that he insisted and swore that "nothing physical happened" between him and Sumner Stroh, the Instagram model who claimed in a now-viral TikTok that she had a year-long affair with the singer.
The 45-year-old father of two was said to have been flirtatiously messaging three women. One of these women said they had a physical relationship, but Levine denied this to friends.
When asked why the singer flirts with other women outside of his marriage, the source answered that Levine craves "female attention," that he likes the attention, and he "likes it more than most."
'I did not have an affair'
Levine broke his silence regarding the issue that he cheated on his wife of eight years, Behati Prinsloo, who is currently pregnant with their third child and mother to Dusty Rose, 6, and Gio Grace, 4.
The singer took to Instagram on Monday and posted his statement: "A lot is being said about me right now and I want to clear the air. I used poor judgment in speaking with anyone other than my wife in ANY kind of flirtatious manner. I did not have an affair, nevertheless, I crossed the line during a regrettable period in my life. In certain instances it became inappropriate; I have addressed that and taken proactive steps to remedy this with my family. My wife and my family is all I care about in this world. To be this naive and stupid enough to risk the only thing that truly matters to me was the greatest mistake I could ever make. I will never make it again. I take full responsibility. We will get through it. And we will get through it together."
Hollywood Women are calling out Levine
Many have reacted to Levine's denial and confession on social media, and many women got turned off by what he said and how he is trying to get out of the situation.
Chrishell Stause, star of "Selling Sunset," whose marriage with Justin Harley ended in 2019, declared that she hates it when a man says "we will get through this together" when apologizing for cheating in public. The actress called out Levine and told him not to speak for his wife because he had done enough.
Emily Ratajkowkski, on the other hand, who just filed for divorce from husband Sebastian Bear-McClard this month, believed that Stroh was also a victim in the situation, especially since she was still young and was dealing with men of power twice her age. She called out Levine, saying that since he is the one in a relationship, he was obligated to be loyal to his wife, E News reported.
However, Stroh apologized and expressed that her naivety was not an excuse for what she did and the role she chose to play. She said she had already realized that she was not the victim in the circumstance and not the one who was getting hurt, but it was Levine's wife and their children.
