Adam Howe was charged with murdering his biological mom, Susan Howe, and then setting her body on fire in front of her $900,000 Cape Cod home, according to Daily Mail. He was arrested Friday night at his mother's house in Truro but died Sunday after suffering a medical emergency in his cell, says the authorities.

The Truro Police Department stated that emergency personnel responded to a residence at around 9:30 p.m. Friday following a request for a well-being check and a separate report incident of a fire. Upon arrival, they saw a man outside the house and a fire on the front lawn. When they realized that it was a body that was burning, the man immediately ran into the house and locked the door. The Cape Cod Regional SWAT Team arrived, entered the home, and arrested Adam.

The Truro History Society Board of Directors paid tribute to Susan in a press release, stating that she showed so much love for the Truro community, bringing immense creativity, energy, time, and devotion to the organization. It also added that she was committed to preserving the history and culture and the well-being of her beloved town.

Choked to death on wet toilet paper

Authorities took Adam to Cape Cod Hospital for a psychiatric evaluation, but medical officials have cleared him to return to custody. He was transported on Saturday afternoon to Ash Street Jail in New Bedford, where supervisors put him on security watch. The 34-year-old had a visual check every 15 minutes and was clothed in a rip-resistant nylon smock for his safety.

Despite the precautions, Adam was able to choke himself to death by obstructing his airways with wet toilet paper. The Bristol County District Attorney's office released a statement that the man was found unresponsive in his cell Sunday afternoon. He was rushed to St. Luke's Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival, says spokesman Jonathan Darling of the Bristol County Sheriff's Office.

In August, the young Howe had a prior criminal record as he was arrested for breaking into a business in Truro, Massachusetts. He was also charged with possession of Suboxone or a combination medication used to treat opioid addiction without a prescription, New York Post reported.

Darling added to respect the family, who have been through a lot this weekend, and asked the public to keep them in their prayers. The authorities have no additional comment or detail as of the moment out of respect for the family.

Son killed his mother during an argument

Another mom was killed by her son at a residence in Boyle Heights. Transito Coreas was at home in the 2700 block of New Jersey Street when she had an argument with her son. Daniel Hidalgo, 24, became enraged and attacked his mother using a huge kitchen knife, stabbing her multiple times in the chest and stomach. Other family members wrestled the son away and held him for the authorities.

The 43-year-old mom was rushed to a local hospital but died due to her severe injuries. Los Angeles reported that the responding officers took the son and the murder weapon into custody without further incident. He was charged with murder, and bail was set at $1 million.
