A woman finally met her long-lost father, a man who did not even know she existed, thanks to an amateur detective she met on the social media platform Facebook, Yahoo reported.

Adrieanna Tyler thought she knew her dad until age 13 when she overheard him calling her his stepdaughter.

She wanted to know who her biological dad was since then, but she could never find out anything about him. The 33-year-old mom, now married to a truck driver in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, recalled that she was desperate to find her real dad, and it always mattered to her.

Tyler finds aunt and dad after doing a DNA test

She began searching again for her real dad this year by ordering a DNA test kit and asking for help from strangers running a Facebook group where they help people unite with their long-lost relatives.

Tyler said that this wonderful lady called Suzanne in the group helped her build her family tree, and after doing another DNA test, they found her aunt. They were able to track down her 47-year-old aunt, Kathie Johnson, according to Good News Network. From there, they were able to find her biological dad, a police officer who lived 1,000 miles away in the state of Florida.

Johnson told Tyler that she would put her in touch with her dad, which made her so nervous. Adrieanna told SWNS that her dad Joseph Frank had no idea she had ever been born. He was thrilled to learn that he not only had another daughter in Tyler but also two young grandchildren.

Adrieanna said that when her dad found out about her, he was so excited, and it relieved her. She added that she felt so vulnerable before, in case her dad wanted nothing to do with her.

After spending the next month video calling and texting daily, Frank decided to travel from Florida to Pennsylvania so they could meet in person for the first time and get to know each other better.

Joseph and Adrieanna already planning a family holiday

She said they spent some time getting to know each other before finally meeting, and it was perfect. Adrieanna added that it felt like a dream. Johnson and Tyler met last week at a local festival near her home, and they are already planning a holiday for their family, according to Metro.

They enjoyed pizza during their emotional meeting, and she also discovered that she has two half-sisters around her age. She said they bonded right away, and she finally feels she can start to heal now. She added that everything ended exactly how it was supposed to.

Dad Joseph echoed his daughter's sentiment, saying that it has been pretty amazing and God works in mysterious ways. He said he was going through a tough break-up when his daughter came into his life, and he needed that.
