"Game of Thrones" Season 6 may not begin until the middle of next year, but its ever-enthusiastic fans are always on the lookout for any updates. Perhaps to fill the void as the show is still on hiatus, cast sightings, plot details and other announcements slowly make their way in the news, much to the excitement of its viewers. We've rounded up the top 5 rumors we've learned about the upcoming season.
1. While it's almost certain Jon Snow is still part of the new season, as the actor has been spotted in Ireland shooting a big battle scene according to Watchers on the Wall, another favorite character who was killed on the show is apparently making a comeback. Sibel Kekilli, who plays the prostitute Shae and Tyrion's greatest love, was seen in Peniscola, according to Dragons And Direwolves' Twitter post. Could Shae's appearance be part of a flashback?
2. According to Winter Is Coming, Khaleesi's reign on her kingdom will come crumbling as civil war erupts in Meereen. In case you've forgotten, Daenerys was captured by the Dothraki, and in her absence it's Varys and a certain red priestess who will be trying to pacify the citizens. But Varys will reportedly abandon ship and return to Westeros. Speculations are that Melanie Liburd is playing the role of the priestess following her announcement of filming for the show on her Instagram. Rumors are that the red priestess will be Tyrion's new lover.
3. Tyene Sand will be back in Season 6, too, as confirmed by the actress, Rosabell Laurenti Sellers, in an interview with Variety. Sellers is still mum about why Oberyn Martell's daughter is going to be in the new season, but fans of the series will definitely want a follow up of the characters on Sand Snakes.
4. Arya Stark is going to be with a theatrical troupe in Braavos, who will be performing a play depicting the heads of King's Landing. There are also rumors of a Stark sisters' reunion, but Maisie Williams didn't say much about this when she spoke with Entertainment Tonight. She did say that Arya and Sansa together is something she has been waiting for, too.
5. There will be major flashbacks and backstories as casting for young Ned Stark and young Robert Barantheon was reported back in August by Watchers on the Wall. These flashbacks are all tied up to Bran and his psychic powers.
