Authorities in Tennessee arrested two individuals in connection with the death and disappearance of mom of two, Chelsie Walker.

Monroe County Sheriff Tommy Jones announced the arrests on a Facebook post last week, adding that charges against the two individuals were forthcoming. However, the sheriff has not released new information since that announcement.

According to the Madisonville Police Department, Walker was last seen at a Walmart on October 29 in Madison. The 24-year-old's Facebook profile lists one of Walker's jobs as an online grocery pickup worker at Walmart, according to Fox News.

Friends and acquaintances mourn Walker's death

Jones revealed that Monroe County detectives later gathered evidence that Walker was last seen at a residence located in Tellico Plains, Tennessee. He added that detectives from both the Madisonville Police Department and the sheriff's office found the mother's remains in a remote area in Monroe County.

Walker's friends and acquaintances remembered her as a kind and loving woman who cared deeply for her kids. It was still unclear how she vanished from Walmart, or how the two individuals in custody were connected to her disappearance and death.

Detectives were still investigating Walker's mysterious death. The identities of the individuals placed in custody have not been publicly released by authorities. Jones wrote in his statement that the Vonore Police Department, the TBI Cybercrimes Unit, the Tellico Plains Police Department, and the District Attorney's office were also helping in the investigation, People Magazine reported.

Andrew Young arrested in connection with Walker's disappearance

Walker's friend, Miranda Waller, said in an interview that she remembered the victim as a very outgoing and bright, bubbly, smiley person. She added that Walker was known for making you feel comfortable and real sweet.

Waller added that Walker was an employee at the Walmart where she was last seen. She said that her friend was an amazing mom to her two kids, and all of Walker's kids were always taken care of. She noted that Walker protected her kids at all times.

She also said that her late friend had recently started going to church. According to Waller, Walker's aunt is raising funds for her niece's funeral expenses and two kids with the Peoples Bank of East Tennessee. She said that money can be deposited to an account in that bank called "Justice for Chelsie."

According to an affidavit that was filed in Monroe County General Sessions Court, a man named Andrew Young is facing a charge related to Walker's case — fraudulent use of a debit card, NBC affiliate WBIR reported.
