Due to the incorrect packaging, Coca-Cola has recently recalled a limited number of Coca-Cola Zero Sugar multipacks with Christmas cardboard. This product recalls warns that there could be a potential risk to consumers who need to control their sugar intakes as some packs have been wrongly boxed and may contain Coca-Cola Original taste, per News and Star.

"The products affected contain the following batch codes: 301WA1, 302WA1, 303WA1, 304WA1, 305WA5, 306WA5, 307WA5, and 308WA5 and have best-before dates of October 31, 2023, and November 30, 2023."

This involved producing a multipack of 24 x 330 ml cans. Thus, if you have bought the mentioned item, immediately contact Coca-Cola on 0800 22 77 11 as the company will arrange the return for you to receive a replacement product.

Consumers are also urged always to check the product ingredients when buying to know if they are not allowed.

The company clarified through the recall announcement posted by the United Kingdom's Food Standard Agency that the affected ones are only the tiny batch of the Coca-Cola Zero Sugar multipacks in Christmas box and not all their products. They are doing their best to avoid a similar incident in the future.

What is a product recall?

A recall is an act of requesting to exchange or replace a particular product after a manufacturer or consumer watch group discovers any defects that harm consumers, hinder the company's performance and image, or even produce legal issues for the producers.

Fortunately, because of the greater awareness of consumer safety concerns, many companies focus on taking preventive measures such as using an internal product recall team and implementing particular quality control methods and procedures mainly designed to lessen the risk, perhaps, prevent product recall expenditures.

This recall is a procedure of correcting or removing certain products that violate specific laws administered by the Food and Drug Administration or FDA.

Foods are not the only ones subject to recall as toys, and clothes can also be the subject of it as they can also pose a danger to the consumer, particularly to kids.

Moreover, Food Safety told the outlet that when a manufacturer recalls a particular product, they immediately provide instructions on what to do with it. Typically, the instructions given and indicated include what the consumer must do, such as return the product and ask for a refund.

Why do some limit their sugar intake?

Besides a diabetes diagnosis, excessive sugar intake increases the risk of heart disease, chronic inflammation, high blood pressure, and non-alcoholic liver disease. Also, high sugar intake can cause one to gain weight.

Truthfully, consuming too many added sugars makes it hard to achieve a healthy eating pattern without taking in too many calories.

Excessive sugar intake is also associated with stroke and heart attack, so one must limit sugar intake. The main reason why some prefer not consuming too much sugar is because of health consciousness.

Moreover, too much sugar can eventually lead to insulin resistance, per Dallas News.
