The mom of Kaylee Goncalves, one of the four University of Idaho students who were fatally stabbed last week, revealed that her daughter sent her pictures just hours before her tragic killing last Sunday morning, November 13.
Kristi Goncalves said in an interview on Fox News' "Lawrence Jones Cross Country" on Saturday evening that her daughter sent her a couple of photos of her and Maddie. She noted that Kaylee sent her those pictures on Saturday afternoon around 3 p.m.
According to authorities, Kaylee and her University of Idaho roommates, 20-year-old Xana Kernodle, 21-year-old Madison Mogen, and Kernodle's boyfriend, 20-year-old Ethan Chapin, were all fatally stabbed while sleeping in Moscow, Idaho last Sunday morning between 3 and 4 a.m.
Local police team up with FBI and other law enforcement authorities to solve case
According to Kristi, she had spoken to her daughter Kaylee on the phone that same day and the two of them were making birthday plans for the coming week. Kristi added that Kaylee called her on Saturday as her birthday was earlier in the week.
Kaylee told her mom during the call that she will be home on Tuesday, and she is going to take her out to breakfast, lunch and dinner. She said that it is all on her and they will celebrate Kristi's birthday.
The mom told Jones that she was filled with excitement at the thought of celebrating her birthday with her daughter with the two of them going out to eat. She recalled telling her daughter that sounds great and she will see her on Tuesday.
Local cops are now working with other law enforcement authorities, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in investigating the brutal Idaho murders, according to the New York Post. Kaylee's parents said during the interview that the investigation regarding the murders will take time due to the amount of evidence the police have collected from the crime scene.

Idaho killer made a mess in crime scene
Kaylee's father, Steve Goncalves, said that the killer made a mess there and authorities are going to have to go through that point by point and that is going to take a lot of time. He added that is the reason why they reached out to other facilities to help them with that lab work.
According to police, Mogen and Goncalves were both seen at a food truck shortly before their deaths. They were then taken home by a private party. Authorities originally said that the two young women were taken home by a rideshare service but they have since corrected that information, according to the Daily Beast.
Police said on Saturday that they investigated the driver who took Goncalves and Mogen home but they do not believe he is involved in this crime. According to authorities, two other roommates were in the King Road home during the brutal murders but they are not considered suspects in the case.
