The "Frozen" fever is never over for the kids. Idina Menzel, the voice behind Elsa, is making a whole new generation fall in love with the movie and its characters.
At a signing event for her new children's book, "Loud Mouse," which she co-wrote with sister Cara Mentzel, the 51-year-old Broadway star shared a spontaneous sweet moment with two adorable girls dressed up as Elsa as they sang "Let it Go" together.
The entire crowd sings along
Dressed in a red top over a denim jumper and a Santa hat, Menzel encouraged the girls to join her in front. When they did, she instructed them to turn around and face the audience and invited them to sing with her.
As Menzel led them into the chorus of the famous song, the two girls, along with parents and children in the audience, joined in singing the rest of the song. When the song ended, the star cheered and acknowledged the girls for their singing.
In the video posted by People, it can be seen that the girls just had their ultimate dream come true, and the air was filled with magic, especially when everyone in the event started singing "Let It Go" together.
'Disservice to the world'
The Enchanted and Disenchanted star got candid about writing her book, which was released last September.
It is a 48-page picture book about a little mouse named Dee who loves to sing while doing everything, and when Dee is asked to share her song with the class, something extraordinary happens. The book was described as a "clever tale" about learning that one's self is "big, brave, and yes, loud," and it deserves to be loved.
She shared that she wrote the book to empower young readers to "step out into the light and not be afraid of what other people think."
"That's something that I've dealt with ever since I was a little girl: wanting to step into my light, my spotlight to shine, to embrace this voice that I had, but also not wanting to alienate the people around me," revealed Menzel.
She always feared being "too much" for anyone to the point of being labeled as a show-off and attention-seeker, which was entirely gone as she grew up and understood more about herself and her talent.
Menzel beautifully put into words how when people hide their talents and gifts; they are "doing a disservice to the world." When she finally embraced that truth, she found the joy of performing with all her heart. She also immediately called her sister to write a book about it.
In a Twitter post, the actress shared that the book brought her and her sister closer. Thus, she hopes that readers and their families will be brought closer as they search for their "biggest brightest selves."
