More than 75 percent of parents would be lost without technology, a recent poll reveals. A survey conducted by OnePoll on behalf of Duolingo ABC, a literacy app for kids, gathered 2,000 parents of children ages 3 to 7. It showed that 59 percent of parents use technology to supplement their kids' learning and 41 percent for their kids' reading. These parents even utilize technology even before their children are in the classroom. Seventy-four percent expressed how technology lessens their stress.
While 26 percent stated that they do not use technology as a learning tool, 60 percent are happy with technology as they see fast progress in their children. Moreover, 71 percent are already using a learning app for their kids.
Some 82 percent believed it would have benefited them greatly if they used it as a learning tool when they were younger.
Benefits of technology to children's learning
"Many parents are realizing the benefits of using technology to support supplemental learning - seeing firsthand how tech can help children learn independently and build confidence," declared the General Manager of Duolingo ABC, Daniel Falabella.
Thirty-four percent of parents value how technology can help them and their kids have increased exposure to other cultures and people, while 39 percent acknowledge how it helps teach life skills such as sharing and social interactions, New York Post reported.
Seventy-nine percent of parents use technology to teach their children something new such as a second language or music.
Technology also allows 68 percent of parents to keep duties with their kids' activity schedules and organize them.
Sixty-four percent use technology for their children's creative pursuits, while 67 percent use it for video chatting with family and friends.

Technology comes with challenges
The poll, however, discovered that parents face challenges as they create a more modern learning environment for their children.
Sixty-three percent of parents reported having encountered struggles as they were making themselves understand technology better, while 63 percent had difficulty teaching their children how to navigate technology on their own.
Fifty-six percent, on the other hand, struggled to identify where their kids needed extra support.
On a positive note, parents see their children's strong suits, talents, and skills as they observe and witness them use technology as a learning tool.
Eighty-one percent of parents, or more than four in five parents, believe that technology is the "future of education" and are in support of learning apps to be used by their children, according to Talker.
As Falabella declared, the future of learning with the use of technology is exciting as more families in this day and age have access to a learning experience that is personalized and of high quality.
