The fashion and media personality gave the public a candid glimpse of the co-parenting situation with her ex-husband.

Co-parenting, Kim Kardashian described, is "really f---ing hard!"

The Kardashians star, 42, guested Monday on Angie Martinez IRL podcast, where she cried, admitting she is having a hard time co-parenting with ex-husband Kanye West.

The former couple shares daughters North, 9, Chicago, 4, and sons Saint, 6, and Psalm, 3. They finalized their highly controversial and publicized divorce last November after West's on-and-off social media dramas and play-by-play of the situation.

Holding on by a thread

Despite what is happening with West and all the negative publicity surrounding him, the entrepreneur stands by her decision to protect their children from what plays out online and said she is truly doing her best.

"If they don't know things that are being said, why would I ever bring that energy to them? That is real, heavy, grownup s--- that they are not ready to deal with. When they are, we will have those conversations. One day, my kids will thank me for not sitting here and bashing their dad," she declared.

She said that she definitely could, but she rather would not, People reported.

She further added in the interview that she has protected her ex-husband and will continue doing in the eyes of their kids as he is still, and will always be, their father.

She expressed how she is "holding on by a thread," making sure that her kids will not know anything that goes on in the outside world.

Memories of her father kept her together

The SKIMS founder, however, knows that one day her children will have access to public information, but until that day arrives, she promised to shield them from all the information that might hurt them "to the end of the Earth as long as I can."

She also shared how sometimes she has no choice but to put a smile on for the kids' sake. She narrated how when they were riding to school, and the kids would request to listen to their father's music, she had to put on a happy face, blast his music, and even sing along with the kids as if nothing wrong was happening. And, as soon as she dropped them off, she would have a "good cry."

During the sit-down, she also shared how the memories of her own father, the late Robert Kardashian, Sr., helped her keep it together for her children and gave her the strength to continue despite her "very complex co-parenting journey."

According to NBC New York, the star said she had the best dad. She had the best memories and most incredible experiences, which she also wants her children to have.
