Swimming instructor faces charges from the death of the 4-Year-Old boy drowning during classes. The swimming instructor, named Lexie Tenhuisen, now faces criminal charges from the drowning incident.

In June 2022, Tenhuisen was teaching swimming lessons in Hephzibah, Georgia, accommodating ten young children in his class.

Swim Instructor Charged of Drowning Death

According to People, the police recorded that a young kid named Israel "Izzy" Scott, who was just 4 years old at the time, managed to sneak his way to the deeper end of the pool without Tenhuisen's awareness at some point toward the end of the lesson.

She then confessed to the authorities that she was unaware that the child had vanished until her granddaughter made her aware of it. Tenhuisen's granddaughter was about to vacuum the swimming pool when she saw the lifeless body at the bottom of the pool.

The Burke County Sheriff's Office at first gave the impression that the boy's death by drowning was an incident and not the result of criminal activity.

However, further investigation revealed otherwise. D.A. Williams, on the other hand, has stated that he concurs with Scott's family and the Burke County Solicitor General's Office in their assessment that there should be legal repercussions.

The Augusta Judicial Circuit District Attorney, Jared Williams, signaled progress in the 4-year-old boy's drowning incident through a press release.

According to Business Insider, Williams stated that the death of Izzy Scott will not be in vain. He will not just be any other case of a file on a desk, but rather, he will be remembered by the whole community.

Williams added, "He is a symbol of how we should cherish our little ones and hold them tight."

The father also stated that every time a parent hands their young children to the care of other adults, that person then becomes responsible for the safety and well-being of the kid.

The 4-Year-Old Boy's Drowning

According to the allegations, Tenhuisen does not allow parents to visit the swimming area when their children are participating in lessons.

The remainder of the kids, including Tenhiusen, had already left the pool by the time the child, who was 4 years old, drowned; thus, no one witnessed the event.

According to the report filed, when Tenhuisen was informed that the boy was drowning, she immediately returned to the water in an effort to save him.

Tenhuisen, with the help of another parent who was also a registered nurse, conducted cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on the boy, but he was unresponsive.

The boy was immediately sent to the hospital for urgent medical needs but was then declared dead.

The swimming instructor told the police then that she was unsure of how things had gone prior to the incident.

Yahoo reports that while all of the kids were swimming altogether, the 4-year-old boy must have gotten too close to the drop-off of the deeper part of the pool. However, she admits that she did not recall or witness that happening since she was concentrating on looking at the other kids while they were playing in the pool.
