The Princess of Wales shares how she creatively squeezes in exercise every morning before the royal family's long schedule begins.

Kate Middleton celebrated the success of the England Wheelchair Rugby League team at the Rugby League World Cup Final last November 2022 by hosting a congratulatory event. She welcomed the coaches and team members at Hampton Court Palace and chatted with them about their future goals.

In one instance, one of the athletes asked about her fitness regime and if she attends the gym. The princess gave them a glimpse of their mornings at home and how she still gets to "squeeze in" some exercises.

"They are at an age where they just love running around. It's running around after the children - I do it all, whenever I can squeeze in exercise I do, even jumping on the trampoline with my children before school," Middleton shared as quoted by Daily Mirror.

A royal family of 'avid athletes' and sports lovers

The princess also shared that the three children - Prince George, 9, Princess Charlotte, 7, and Prince Louis, 4, have inherited the same interest in sports from her and her husband, Prince Williams. They love sports and grew up as "avid athletes."

She stated that the family members are quite competitive with one another.

She also shared how Prince Louis is "mad about rugby," People reported.

She even told the players at the event that the entire family watched the World Cup Final on television, where Team France lost to Team England in a "dramatic" 24 to 28 victory.

Before welcoming 2023, the Prince and Princess of Wales showed their love for sports when they joined the world in giving a tribute to Brazilian soccer legend Pelé, who died at 82 last December 29, 2022, due to colon cancer.

The royal couple reposted Team England's tribute to the sports icon on their official social media, calling Pele a "true football icon."

A rugby enthusiast

In February 2022, Middleton became patron of the Rugby Football Union and Rugby Football League.

According to Vanity Fair, it was one of the roles she took after her brother-in-law Prince Harry stepped down as a senior royal in 2020.

The princess has since embraced the position. She visited the Twickenham Stadium last February and met with men and women players from England's team as they were practicing for the Six Nations Championships. She even joined a training session with some of the rugby players led by head England coach Eddie Jones, where she participated in a line-out play.

The future queen laughed as she was lifted, yet she expertly caught the ball and passed it to a player, reflecting how the sport was a long household staple even before she became a royal.

To honor the joyous occasion, Kensington Palace released a video of the princess, then still the Duchess of Cambridge, playing catch with the rugby players, spinning the ball on her finger, and delighting on her first day as new patron.
