A six-year-old boy sustained injuries in the lower part of his body after his school bus driver ran him over. The incident happened in Minnesota, specifically at the 8700 block of Edinbrook Crossing in Brooklyn Park.

Police officers in Brooklyn Park were informed of a hit-and-run accident that included a school bus.

At first, the bus driver fled the scene of the accident. The law enforcement agents tracked down the bus.

The 6-year-old boy is left with injuries

According to the New York Post, the school bus had dropped off the boy, whose name is withheld, at 3 P.M., shortly before it ran him over. He was immediately brought to the nearest hospital, where his injuries were assessed as non-life-threatening.

Upon investigation, police discovered that a bus company had left the kid in the parking lot. Inspector Elliot Faust said the school bus driver claimed he was unaware that he had run over the boy.

The six-year-old boy is a student at Prodeo Academy, a public charter school in Columbia Heights.

The school bus used by the school is operated by a third-party service provider that holds a contract with the school.

In response to this accident, the school assured the students' parents that the bus driver was suspended and would no longer drive their specific route.

According to KARE, Chancey Anderson and Rick Campion, the co-founders of Prodeo, issued a statement on Thursday in which they acknowledged that the disaster had a devastating impact on the community.

The founders stated that two of their staff members were able to provide support to the child's family in the hospital the previous night, and they are maintaining communication with them.

Prodeo chose not to release details on the boy's identity or his current medical condition to show respect for the victim and his family.

They further stated that the institution's primary goal is ensuring that the children attending the school are safe. They anticipate that its business partners will similarly make safety their top concern.

Since they learned about the tragedy, they launched a comprehensive inquiry into the safety procedures of the transportation providers with whom they have contracts.

During their inquiry, they have also been in touch with law enforcement officials in the surrounding area.

As per Tip411, the incident is being actively investigated by both the Brooklyn Park Police Department and the Minnesota State Patrol.

They will keep in touch with one another regarding the development of the investigation as it proceeds. There is still evidence to be collected, including footage of the incident captured on camera.
