It started as a joke by a Michigan mom, and now mothers around the country are coming together, requesting the heavy sedation post-birth spa she proposed.
A mom of three in northern Michigan, Kalin Sheick's usual morning routine involves a hot coffee while chatting on Instagram stories with the customers of her flower business called Sweetwater Floral, where she specifically said that if she is not busy designing "award-winning wedding florals" in her state, she's probably hosting floral, wreath and business workshops across America.
One morning, Sheick woke up with a brilliant business idea for moms who had just given birth. Like any morning, she got her coffee and shared this with her customers. She got "overwhelmingly positive" responses from her customers' Instagram stories, so she proposed her "mock business plan for postpartum women" to her TikTok followers.
She pitched her brilliant idea saying, "We need a service where you go into a medically induced coma and while you're in that coma after you've had a baby, they do everything for you. You get hair color, OK? You get a little Botox if that's your vibe. You get a facial. You get lashed. You get your teeth whitened. And they buy you a new wardrobe that fits, that is stylish, but age appropriate. And then you wake up and you're like 'Thank you, do you take American Express?'"
The Coma Spa
But she isn't done yet.
She continued her pitch, stating that this "coma spa" will also offer a Brazilian wax service and, most significantly, will offer to do one's tax papers and processing.
Her TikTok video has since become viral, with 281,400 views, 29,000 likes, and almost a thousand comments.

Two of her followers commented that they were already sold on just the coma. They'll take that even without all the other extra services.
Others hilariously joined in on building the business plan and suggested additional services they would want, like a spray tan, getting their nails done, tummy tuck, liposuction, tattoo, and even additional paperwork like filing birth certificates and adding the baby to health insurance.
Two users even suggested names for the business, like "The Sleeping Beauty Special" and "Wax 'N' Tax."
Some asked when the appointments would be available, while the rest just expressed how "revolutionary" and what a "dream" her idea is.
Moms want to be taken care of
Sheick never expected that her "business plan" would be such a hit to mommas like her.
She told Today that as a mother herself, she encountered that experience of being "tossed back into the world" after having a baby. At first, she thought that if only a couple of people could relate to her video, that would be already awesome. And then came the overwhelming responses.
Yet kidding aside, she stated that the comments show that mothers, in particular, want to be taken care of and pampered after "putting our bodies out there for such a transformative event."
She also stressed the irony that not many people can agree on one thing anymore these days, and yet everyone seems to agree that a "coma spa" be available for all mommies out there.
