The View alumni revealed that she was being coaxed to take Ozempic just weeks after giving birth to her second child so she could lose the baby weight immediately.

Meghan McCain opens up about how "horrifying, unfair and disturbing" the pressure being placed on her to get rid of her pregnancy weight in an op-ed she wrote for The Daily Mail.

The title of her article says it all - "I just gave birth and I'm being urged to take a 'miracle shot' of Ozempic as a quick fix ... It's horrifying, unfair and disturbing - and I refuse."

New miracle drug

The 38-year-old American TV personality and her husband, Ben Domenech, 41, just recently welcomed their second daughter Clover Jade last January 19. The couple also shares eldest daughter Liberty Sage, who is already two years old.

As she pointed out in her article, she just gave birth, yet she could not believe what she was hearing from people, specifically what they were asking her.

According to People, she has been asked numerous times if she has already taken Ozempic, which she described as the "new miracle drug" sweeping the nation. One needs $1,000 to have an injection, and it can "melt" body fats away.

She further emphasized that though she understood that there are people who have challenges with obesity and need Ozempic, she is not one of them. Thus, it shocked her that her "casual friends and industry acquaintances" have been popping the question if she's taking it.

Role model for her daughters

But after the questions came the urging to "just take the shot." She even shared that someone offered her black market freebies with "extra shots at home."

The author and columnist made it very clear in her op-ed that she is not taking the drug and refuses to take it, stressing the moral issue at hand.

Ozempic, according to McCain, is a roadblock to the progress made over the years regarding body positivity, self-love, and acceptance of oneself.

Further, her refusal to give in to this "quick fix" goes way beyond having her pre-pregnant body once again. Rather, it is all about setting an example for her two daughters, who she does not want to see their beauty based on what social media or society says, The Independent reported.

She emphasized that she would rather have the extra pounds than risk her health and her children's health, McCain concluded.

In her article, she noted that celebrities like Chelsea Handler admitted to using Ozempic but claimed she did not realize she was on it. Kyle Richards of the Real Housewives denied taking it when people said she was on it after she recently flaunted her abs. Elon Musk has admitted he uses it, and reality TV star Jackie Goldschneider revealed that many of her fellow cast members are taking it.
