Naomi Scott gets another role-this time, as the pink Power Ranger.
Power Rangers, the TV show that '90s kids miss, is coming back via a reboot movie done by Lionsgate. Currently, casting is being done, and great news has come for fans: the pink ranger has been found.
According to Screenrant, the pink suit will be worn by Naomi Scott.

Scott, possessing a wider filmography compared to the other members casted to date, has appeared in various shows already. MovieWeb reports that Scott started her acting career in the TV show "Life Bites," and also appeared in the TV show "Terra Nova." Recently, she appeared in this weekend's blockbuster "The Martian."
She will also play a role in "The 33," which is based on a real-life event: 33 miners trapped underground for 69 days when a gold mine collapses shut.
Screenrant adds that Scott beat out other actresses that were considered for the role of Kimberly, such as AnnaSophia Robb ("Soul Surfer") and Stephanie Scott ("Jem and the Holograms").
A character description via Collider gives fans an idea of Scott's Kimberly:
"Kimberly - 17 years old, unconventionally cool all in a way the popular girls wish they were. In fact, she was one of those girls, but isn't anymore. Not since she's returned to school after an absence of 6 months. Rumors are flying as to why; rumors she seems not to care about, because she's come back with this new rebel-without-a-cause, edgy attitude. But the truth is, it's all masking a deep secret that makes her feel profoundly vulnerable."
That description gives off the idea that the reboot will give more depth to the main characters, something which the original TV show didn't do well.
According to ComingSoon.net, "Power Rangers" is by Haim Saban, who created the original "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" TV series back in the '90s. The series became one of the most-watched children's television programs and is still one of highest-rated and longest running live-action series that boys watch.
The TV series centers on a group of ordinary teenagers that were given extraordinary powers by "morphing" into superheroes, so that they could fight against the evil Rita Repulsa and save the world.
Dean Israelite is directing the reboot. It will be written by Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz. Haim Saban, Brian Casentini, and Allison Shearmur will be producing.
Power Rangers will be released in theaters on Jan. 13, 2017.
