A female protester started arguing with a couple accompanied with two kids outside of Manhattan courthouse before allegedly threatening them with a knife.
Angelica Rucker, a supporter of Donald Trump, was protesting against the Manhattan district attorney's probe of the former president Tuesday outside of the Manhattan Criminal Court when she pulled a knife on a family with two small children, one of them in strollers, a court official stated.
According to three bystanders who talked with Politico, the parents of the kids accidentally bumped into Rucker while crossing the intersection of Hogan Place and Centre Street at pass four in the afternoon.
The 39-year-old Trump supporter, who was holding a sign with the message "I support Trump, do you?" began arguing with the couple and suddenly pulled a six-inch long blade and waved it at the family.
"Angelica Rucker pulled a knife from her right side belt hip area and began menacing one of the complainants with the knife as the verbal confrontation pursued," a court spokesperson narrated.
Arrested without resistance
The mother of the kids yelled, "Knife, knife," which was responded to immediately by court officers who were standing outside the building, 20 seconds from where the commotion was happening.
The court officers rushed over to the family, pulled out their guns and ordered the female protester to drop the knife immediately, one of the bystanders said.
No one was injured in the incident, Yahoo News reported.
Rucker was arrested without resistance and was placed in custody with pending charges, as per a court spokesperson.
Trump called supporters to "protest"
The commotion comes as New York City and the world await the former president's indictment on criminal charges over the "hush money payments" worth $130,000 given to porn star Stormy Daniels days before the presidential election in 2016.
Manhattan prosecutors claim that the money was used to silence Daniels about an alleged affair with the former president. The investigation has been around the alleged falsification of Trump Organization's business records when Michael Cohen, his former lawyer and "fixer" made the said payment.
Trump called on his supporters to "protest, and take our nation back," and even predicted a "potential death & destruction" if he is indicted. However, significant support failed to materialize as only Rucker was protesting outside of the Manhattan courthouse Tuesday.
Moreover, he claimed that he was going to be arrested on March 21, yet as of today, the Manhattan grand jury, who were reviewing his case, announced a month-long break. They would not be hearing any evidence in the proceedings because of "an already-scheduled hiatus."
Despite the changes in schedule though, possible indictment of Trump can come late of April the earliest, as reported by The Independent.
If Trump is indicted, it will be the first time in American history where a former or current president of the United States has ever been convicted on criminal charges.
