As the economy continues to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic, many states are implementing stimulus programs to help their residents.

From property tax rebates to state tax refunds, many Americans are eagerly waiting for their stimulus check payments.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the American economy came to a halt in March 2020.

The government acted swiftly and implemented a series of stimulus packages to aid businesses and individuals.

While federal payments have ceased, some states have been slow in distributing their aid, with a few still planning payments for 2023.

Although many programs will conclude in 2022, several states are still in the process of providing assistance to their residents.

With that, here's an overview of the states that have stimulus payments scheduled for this year.

Next Distribution for your stimulus check payments for 2023

  • Pennsylvania Renters, Homeowners, and People with Disabilities

According to GOBankingRates, starting in July 2022, Pennsylvania initiated the process of distributing payments to homeowners, older renters, and individuals with disabilities.

However, the deadline for submitting claims was December 31, 2022, and payments will continue to roll over into 2023 for eligible residents who submit their paperwork before the deadline.

While the maximum standard rebate is $650, qualifying individuals who meet the state's criteria for supplemental rebates may receive up to $975.

  • New Jersey Property Tax Rebates

At present, New Jersey is distributing $2 billion in property tax rebates to approximately two million of its residents.

The rebate amount varies depending on income, with homeowners earning up to $150,000 qualifying for $1,500, while those earning between $150,000 and $250,000 are eligible for $1,000.

Renters earning up to $150,000 are also entitled to $450. The payments are expected to reach the recipients by May 2023 at the latest.

  • Massachusetts State Tax Refunds

As per AS, in Massachusetts, taxpayers are eligible to receive a refund of approximately 14% of their state tax liability. People who filed their 2021 tax return before October 17, 2022, should have received their refund in December.

Taxpayers who filed after and up to September 15, 2023, should receive their payment one month after the return is filed. You can consult more details on the state website.

  • New Mexico State Income Tax Refunds

In New Mexico, in-state residents can still receive a refund of $500 for single filers and $1,000 for joint filers. Residents have until May 2023 to file their income taxes for 2021 and qualify for a rebate. It will also be coming to Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Maine, New York, Oregon, and Rhode Island.

States that are still considering stimulus checks in 2023

According to Tax Time Central, several other states are also considering additional stimulus checks in 2023.

These include California, which has proposed additional stimulus checks of up to $600 for eligible residents.

Colorado is considering providing stimulus payments of $1,100, while Maryland is considering payments of up to $1,000.

Massachusetts has proposed payments of up to $1,200, New Jersey has proposed payments of up to $500, and New York has proposed payments of up to $1,200 for eligible residents who earned less than $75,000 in the previous tax year.

Pennsylvania is also considering providing stimulus checks of up to $1,000 to eligible residents.

However, the details of these programs are yet to be finalized, but it is likely that they will follow a similar income-based model to previous stimulus programs.

Stimulus check payments are an important part of many states' economic recovery plans.

Whether you are a homeowner, renter, or taxpayer, there may be a stimulus program in every state that you can take advantage of.

Keep an eye on the state's website for more details about stimulus check distribution and eligibility requirements.
