Rachael Leigh Cook and Daniel Gillies are going to have a baby. The "She's All That" star confirmed the news to Us Weekly.
"I've been hiding my rapidly growing bump while shooting but this kiddo is vying for screen time," the mom-to-be, who is busy shooting the second season of "Perception", told Us Weekly. "We clearly have a future actor on our hands."
This is the first child of the couple, who has been married since 2004. The baby is due in the fall. Cook and her Canadian husband are planning to name their baby Keanu Robocop.
The dad-to-be, who is popular for his role as Elijah Mikaelson in "The Vampire Diaries", shared his happiness with his 293,884 followers on Twitter.
"Thank you everyone. we are delighted," he wrote.
Fans and followers of the celebrity couple welcomed the news wholeheartedly and conveyed their support and happiness.
"Happy 4 you:-) and the name keanu robocop :-) so good!" one of the comments read, while another one warned the actor about the consequences if the development interfere with the expecting actress's new venture: "It better not get in the way of @RachaelLCook filming #Perception. I don't know that I could forgive you."
While talking to Us Weekly, the dad-to-be also revealed not bothering much about the gender of the baby and his impatience to meet his little one.
"A lot of people are asking whether I'd prefer a boy or a girl," Gillies told Us Weekly. "In truth, it doesn't matter to me -- I just can't wait to meet little Keanu Robocop."
Cook, who started appearing in public service announcements (PSA) at the age of 7, drew wide attention with her appearance in PSA's 1987 campaign "This is Your Brain on Drugs." She shot to fame with her roles in the 1999 films, "She's All That," and "The Bumblebee Flies Anyway."
The expecting parents' latest project, Showtime's "Broken Kingdom," directed and produced by Gillies and acted by both Gillies and Cook, will be premiered May 15.
