'Guardians Of The Galaxy 2' Cast & Plot: Zoe Saldana Teases Character Return, Says 'I’ll See You On Guardians' [Video]

"Guardians of the Galaxy" was a surprise hit in 2014, garnering positive reviews and reception from the public. Marvel Studios was quick to announce a sequel to the James Gunn's feature, "Guardians of the Galaxy 2," even before the first film opened in cinemas due to the massive hype it had to moviegoers. Since then, news for the highly anticipated title has been buzzing around the internet, teasing fans of its scheduled release in 2017.

Apart from the band of superhero misfits, Cinema Blend reports that one of the movie's cast members has allegedly hinted on another major character's comeback. In a video posted by Marco Perego Saldana on Facebook, Zoe Saldana (who plays Gamora) revealed that Benicio Del Toro's character, The Collector, will be part of "Guardians of the Galaxy 2." The video is in Spanish, but according to the news outlet, Saldana was amazed by Del Toro's performance in the movie. She could be heard saying, "See you in Guardians," hinting of The Collector's comeback.

However, Comic Book Movie was quick to explain that maybe, Saldana is just assuming Del Toro's return to "Guardian's of the Galaxy 2" without full knowledge of the final cast members. The news outlet further commented that if The Collector returns, it will be great to see him take on a bigger role than "flamboyant appearances" that are not too significant to the storyline.

A separate Cinema Blend article also lists down other characters that are sure to return to the installment. First off is Pratt's character, Peter Quill or Star-Lord. Pratt's character had a big transformation during "Guardians of the Galaxy" from being "a womanizing, asshole thief" to a leader of the pack.

Gamora (Saldana), who has a rough past witnessing her parents be killed by an alien that will raise her, will also be present. But despite leaving her past, it will still haunt her as Thanos is not too happy about the idea of her daughter's betrayal. Crowd favorite Groot (voiced by Vin Diesel) will also return despite being shattered into a million pieces when he sacrificed himself to protect his friends. It turns out that Groot might regenerate and grow up again.

Drax the Destroyer (Dave Bautista) will also take center stage. In another Cinema Blend report, James Gunn said that he has “a lot of stuff about Drax that nobody knows." Lastly, the not-so-people-friendly Rocket Raccoon will also be included in "Guardians of the Galaxy 2" and will be voiced by Bradley Cooper.

As announced by Gunn and Pratt in the San Diego Comic-Con 2014, "Guardians of the Galaxy 2" is set to hit theaters on May 5, 2017.
