'Fast and Furious 8' Vs 'XXX 3' Which Comes First? Vin Diesel Teases Both Films In A 'Race To Production' [Poll] Which Film Would You Prefer?

Fans of the popular street-racing film "Fast and Furious" are very excited for its upcoming franchise "Fast and Furious 8." However, the film's star and producer Vin Diesel is also set to reprise his role for "XXX 3." What do you think should be filmed first?

In an earlier report from Parent Herald, there are speculations that "Fast and Furious 8" will be delayed due to Diesel's commitment for the third installment of "XXX" that also has him for its lead role.

In fact, the actor posted a throwback photo of him a month ago for "XXX 3" which he captioned with, "While I was filming XXX, guys on set called me Air Diesel... The time to return has come. Filming starts December in the Philippines.#ILiveForThisShit"

Io9 had the opportunity to talk with Diesel when he promoted his film, "The Last Witch Hunter" which is coming out this month and the actor revealed new information about his upcoming films, "Fast and Furious 8" and "XXX 3."

"I'm excited as hell about XXX," Diesel said. "D.J. Caruso is directing it, which is exciting. The big question now is which will race to production first now that F. Gary Gray is on [Furious 8]? Will XXX race to production first or will Fast race to production first?"

According to Cinema Blend, it's more likely that "Fast and Furious 8" will be filmed first because it is already slated for a 2017 release. Moreover, its last instalment "Fast and Furious 7" earned $1.5 billion, thus, Universal is likely to turn it around as quick as possible. Plus, the film has an in-demand director in the person of Gray.

On the other hand, "XXX"has been dormant for a decade now. The original film was released in 2002 and its sequel "XXX: State Of The Union" was released in 2005. Diesel has been teasing fans about "XXX 3" since 2008 and after seven years, a director is finally announced, which is not a little thing.

"XXX is one of those films you do when you need to have a little fun," Diesel said. "When the weight and pressures of all the other things have gone so far that you need to have a character that you can just have fun and more comment on life and comment on the outcome than being in it like Dom Torretto [from Fast and Furious]. Dom is very much the center of the storm, Xander is more the guide to something else and you're just with him."

"Fast and Furious 8" is set to hit the big screens on April 14, 2017. Meanwhile, "XXX 3" has no schedule yet but the actor already announced that filming will start in the Philippines in December.
