Could "The Elder Scrolls 6" be on the way? While most sources report that a new title could be at least two years off, it appears issue with another project could propel the new "Elder Scrolls" title to be released sooner.

In a recent report by PC Gamer, Bethesda is encountering issues with "Battlecry" and is currently "evaluating" the direction of the game. It seems this could open a window of opportunity for "Elder Scrolls 6" to be moved up along the development timeline.

In an official statement issued by the firm, "We have concerns about the Battlecry game and whether it is meeting the objectives we have for it," said the company's statement. "We are evaluating what improvements the game needs to meet our quality standards. The studio remains busy during this process on multiple projects."

The site goes on the say that the term "multiple projects" which is said to be a change in the operations of the company. Typically, Bethesda works on a single project at a time but now, we know that they are developing content for "Fallout 4," "Battlecry" as well as continued support and updates for "Elder Scrolls Online."

It goes on to conclude that the "Elder Scrolls" franchise has been by far the best selling series for Bethesda. They believe that "Bethesda certainly has the resources for development of The Elder Scrolls 6 to proceed, and compellingly, the studio has a history of starting their next project before the last is even released; work had already begun on The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion before The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind had even officially released, and the same is likely true of Skyrim."

"The Elder Scrolls 6" Update & Rumors

In terms of gameplay, the "Skyrim" sequel is rumored to be developing a multiplayer mode. Gaming Bolt put forth that while there are cons to the change in modality, "featuring high level quests that function a bit like raids, with high leveled monsters at the end. Defeating these monsters and completing these quests gains participating players access to high level gear and loot that is otherwise harder to achieve in the single player mode (although still perfectly possible)."

The enhancement could address some of the issues in the series which include "the increasing trivialization of gear and loot, the scattershot combat mechanics, the lack of compelling sidequests."

No official release date has been confirmed by Bethesda with regards to "The Elder Scrolls 6" title but it's newest and highly anticipated game "Fallout 4" is due out on Nov. 10, 2015 on PC, Xbox One, PS4.
