Things are definitely moving for the upcoming film "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" with insiders revealing that a new trailer could be hitting the air waves very soon.
The J.J. Abrams film, "Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens" is due out later this year and per Screen Rant, the film-maker is currently in possession of the movie's final cut. However, the publication elaborated that due to a provision in the contract of the film, at any point, Disney can take control of the project.
This agreement isn't something new and is pretty typical especially given the investment studios make on these mega-blockbusters.
He maintains that Disney has allowed him and his team to "make the movie we wanted to take" and even referred to Robert Iger of Disney an "incredible collaborator" who "mandates nothing" on the project.
"I cannot say enough about how [Robert] Iger and Alan Horn have understood this thing that is now part of the Disney company. And they're not trying to Disney-fy it. They're not doing anything other than, I think, an incredibly smart thing, which is letting Kathleen Kennedy - who is a remarkable person and producer - run and lead Lucasfilm to a place where I think it wants to go."
'Star Wars Episode 7' Trailer Out Next Week?
With the final cut already available, it was reported that the new trailer for the much-awaited film installment will be out on Oct. 19, the same day as the launch of the online ticket pre-sale. Star Wars News Net reports that the info is sourced from an individual claiming to work as a multiplex manager.
Per Dave Olden, the source confirms "IMAX tickets for Star Wars the Force Awakens will be available for online purchase 12:00 am, Monday October 19."
"Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens" stars original cast members Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Harrison Ford (Han Solo), Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia), who are reprising their roles. Other stars include Anthony Daniels (C-3PO), Kenny Baker (R2-D2) and Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca). Newcomers to the franchise include Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac , Andy Serkis, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Gwendoline Christie, Lupita Nyong'o and many others. The film hits theaters on December 18th, 2015.
Other "Star Wars" films include "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" on December 16th, 2016. This will then be followed by the Rian Johnson-led "Star Wars: Episode VIII" on May 26th, 2017, and the Han Solo Star Wars Anthology film on May 25th, 2018. "Star Wars: Episode IX: -- to be directed by "Jurassic World" leader Colin Trevorrow -- is expected to reach theaters in 2019, followed by the third Star Wars Anthology film in 2020.
