BlendJet recalls millions of their portable products sold at Costco, Target, and Walmart due to increasing reports of injuries and hazard complains.

BlendJet is one of the leading manufacturer of portable blenders and has sold their products in reputable retailers acresso the country. The recall affects approximately 4.8 million BlendJet 2 Portable Blenders.

There have been reports of overheating problems, fires that occurred at home, and laceration incidents. The company advised its consumers in the US and Canada to check if their portable blenders are part of the Blendjet recalls to ensure safety and claim their replacements if they want another one.

BlendJet 2 Blender Overheating Prompts Nationwide Recall Due to Fire and Laceration Risks

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued a critical safety warning for consumers regarding the portable BlendJet 2 Portable Blenders. According to the government agency, the company has received a total of 329 documented incidents.

Some consumers also stated that they experienced the blender's blade breaking in the middle of using it. In addition, the agency also revealed that some consumers complained of their BlendJet 2 blenders overheating, which dangerously led to fire, which totaled 17 reports.

With that, it was also revealed that these fire incidents resulted in property damage claims by consumers that amounted to approximately $150,000 in total.

Furthermore, 49 individuals reported that they have experienced minor burn injuries while using the product, while one consumer reported a laceration injury.

BlendJet takes Swift Actions For Consumer Safety

In response to these concerning complaints, BlendJet has taken prompt and decisive action to rectify the problems that have been uncovered.

The business notes that the more recent BlendJet 2 blenders, which are easily available through their official website and retail partners, have better components.

These components include thicker blades and an improved electrical arrangement. It has been several months since these essential updates were implemented, and they have ensured that BlendJet machines that are more recent are not included in the recall.

The BlendJet 2 blenders that were affected by this wide BlendJet recall were sold all over the country and came in a variety of colors and designs.

The recalled blenders were made available for purchase at various well-known retail establishments, such as Target, Walmart, and Costco, and on BlendJet's official website between the months of October 2020 and November 2023. These defective products had dimensions of 9.5 inches by 3 inches and weighed 1.5 pounds. The pricing range for these blenders was between $50 and $75.

How To Get a Free BlendJet Blender Replacement

Checking the serial number that is found at the buttom of the appliance is an easy way for BlendJet customers to discover whether or not their BlendJet 2 blender is included in the BlendJet recall.

To check if your portable blender is one of the ones recalled, check if it has serial numbers beginning with "5201" to "5542," which means it is included in the recall. However, consumers who have blender numbers beginning with "5543" or higher are not affected by the recall.

Furthermore, consumers are also given the option to directly contact the company through the official website of BlendJet in order to easily verify the current state of their blender.

BlendJet is providing free base unit replacements to customers who have blenders that have been compromised by contamination. Obtaining a replacement can be accomplished by following these simple steps:

  • Take off the rubber seal that is attached to the base of your BlendJet 2 Portable Blender and cut it into more than three pieces.

  • Take a photograph that is crystal clear and shows the serial number of the goods, as well as evidence that the rubber seal has been broken.
