Allegations Against Accused Teen

The relatives of the Missouri teenager facing charges for the assault on 16-year-old Kaylee Gain have come forward, asserting that she was a victim of ongoing harassment and bullying prior to the incident.

According to her aunt, the 15-year-old, known for her academic excellence at Hazelwood East High School, was defending herself during the widely publicized altercation in Spanish Lakes, Missouri, on March 8.

Seeking understanding and support from the juvenile court system, the accused girl's family has initiated efforts to raise $150,000 for her legal defense.

They have launched a petition on Charge.org, urging Chief Juvenile Officer Rick Gaines not to escalate the charges to adult status due to the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Highlighting the teenager's achievements in academics and sports, the petition emphasizes her multilingual skills, musical talents in the school orchestra, and participation in the volleyball team, along with recent accomplishments in advanced placement classes.

The March 8 assault near Hazelwood East High School left Kaylee Gain with severe injuries, including a fractured skull leading to critical brain swelling and bleeding, as confirmed by family attorney Bryan Kaemmerer.

The recent update from Gain is that the extent of her injuries and prognosis is still uncertain to this point until she regains cowhoousness.

The family of the 16-year-old that was beaten in the high school brawl continues to ask for prayers from everyone for her well-being.

Legal Support Efforts

The family expressed frustration that the incident is being used to judge the teen's character and criticized Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey's statement suggesting adult charges if Kaylee Gain does not survive.

The petition highlighted the injustice of charging the accomplished teenager as an adult without considering the full context of the situation leading to the assault.

They urged the courts to consider all aspects of the teen's life, particularly her experience as a bullied student defending herself under extreme circumstances.

The petition mentions, "It is unjust that such an accomplished young woman should be charged as an adult for assault without considering all the facts of the case that led to the incident where harm occurred."

Following the altercation, the family reported receiving racist threats and facing attempts to expose personal information about the teen.

They emphasized the importance of healing and reconciliation, stressing that the incident was a regrettable teenage fight that escalated beyond control.

The relatives of the accused teen stated that "the focus should be to pray for the healing and reconciliation of both parties, as this truly was a teenage fight that should've never happened to begin with, but did and spun completely out of control."

The online petition has garnered support from over 500 individuals, indicating widespread backing for their cause.
