14-Year-Old Boy Dies from Stab Wounds

Authorities reported that a 14-year-old boy from Wyoming was badly stabbed with a kitchen knife while trying to protect his girlfriend from two teens wearing balaclavas in a shopping mall.

Bobby Maher was dreadfully knifed to death after facing two 15-year-old boys who were supposedly harassing his girlfriend at the Eastridge Mall in Casper on Sunday afternoon.

According to the Cowboy State Daily, Maher had rushed to the mall after his girlfriend informed him that the two suspects, identified as Jarreth Plunkett and Dominique Harris, were following them around the shopping complex.

Upon his arrival, Maher attempted to escort his girlfriend and her friend to safety while repeatedly instructing the suspects to leave. Surveillance footage reportedly showed Maher backing away from the alleged attackers, who were wearing hooded balaclavas.

Plunkett allegedly threatened Maher several times, while Harris lifted Maher and slammed him to the ground before punching him. Plunkett then allegedly stabbed Maher with a "kitchen-style knife" before both suspects fled the scene and discarded the weapon and masks in the parking lot.

Upon apprehension, the suspects reportedly told authorities that Maher had insulted them. They also confessed to stealing the knife from a Target store within the mall.

A friend of Maher disclosed that the suspects, known as "JJ and Dom," attended the same middle school as Maher and had a prior conflict with him at a park.

Plunkett faces liability including first-degree killing, conspiracy to commit the killing, aggravated assault and battery, and theft, while Harris is liable with conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, aggravated assault and battery, and misdemeanor theft.

The suspects, liable as adults, had their bonds set at $500,000 and $450,000 during their first court presence.
