A New Mexico infant has been found after a successful Amber Alert release. A 10-month-old infant who had been kidnapped in Clovis, New Mexico, was located on Monday, May 4. Subsequently, a suspect was apprehended, authorities confirmed.

Successful Infant Abduction Rescue

The infant, identified as Eleia Maria Torres, underwent evaluation at a local medical facility, following protocols set by the Clovis Police Department, as stated in an official statement.

The suspect, Alek Isaiah Collins, aged 26 and hailing from Manvel, Texas, was taken into custody in Abilene, Texas, on Monday. Law enforcement officials have placed him under arrest on charges related to aggravated robbery and assault on a peace officer, with additional charges pending review by the Abilene Police.

Police teams tracked down the suspect to a residence in North Abilene, where surveillance was established by narcotics agents early Monday morning. The operation concluded with the subject's arrest without any untoward incident, as detailed by law enforcement sources.

Following the rescue, the infant was placed under protective care and received medical attention, as per law enforcement protocols. The successful recovery of the infant was a result of an Amber Alert issued in response to a tragic incident.

The Amber Alert for Eleia Maria Torres was issued by the Clovis Police Department, prompted by a distress call reporting the discovery of the deceased women at Ned Houk Park near Clovis.

A park visitor reported hearing gunshots but did not immediately inform authorities, according to police statements. Upon discovery of the crime scene, law enforcement recovered an infant car seat, an infant stroller, and a small baby bottle, prompting an immediate search for the missing infant, as per official reports.

Additionally, a 5-year-old girl sustained a gunshot wound to her head, as per statements from Clovis police and state police. She was subsequently transported to a hospital in Lubbock, Texas, approximately 100 miles southeast of Clovis.

At the park scene, authorities found an infant car seat, an infant stroller, and a small baby bottle, providing critical context to the tragic series of events.

The New Mexico State Police confirmed that the fathers of the girls are cooperating with the investigation and are not considered suspects in the double homicide.

New Mexico Infant Recovering

Authorities are investigating Alek Isaiah Collins for his alleged involvement in a double murder and the shooting of a 5-year-old girl in New Mexico last week, in addition to the reported abduction.

Collins is currently subject to a United States Marshal hold related to these charges, as confirmed by officials.

Among the victims were Samantha Cisneros, the mother of the abducted infant, and the injured 5-year-old, along with Taryn Allen, both 23 years old and from Texico, New Mexico.

Deputy Chief Trevor Thron of the Clovis Police expressed solidarity with the victims and their families, particularly the 5-year-old child recovering from a head injury at a local hospital. Thron emphasized the community's heartfelt wishes for the child's swift and complete recovery during this challenging period.

Thron added, "Our hearts are with the victim and her family during this incredibly difficult time," And we fervently hope for swift and complete recovery."
