Georgia Park Incident Kills Three Children

In a tragic development, three children, aged 9 to 13, lost their lives in what authorities suspect to be a murder-suicide following an agreement between their mother and her former partner in Georgia.

The distressing incident unfolded in Lucky Shoals Park, Gwinnett County, where a police officer on patrol discovered the bodies of a man and the three children around 1 a.m. on Wednesday, inside a vehicle parked along a walking trail.

Identified as Arianny Rodriguez, 13, Chadal Rodriguez, 11, and Carlos Rodriguez, 9, the children were the victims of this heart-wrenching event, as confirmed by next-of-kin notifications.

The suspect, Jose Plasencia, 56, had a previous relationship with the children's mother and was known to the family.

The tragic sequence of events took place while the mother was at the hospital tending to another child's unrelated injury, where Plasencia, the father of the injured child, encountered the family.

Subsequently, the mother agreed to let Plasencia take the three children out for a meal, while she remained at the hospital, unaware of the devastating outcome that would follow.

Police indicated that "after some time, the mother agreed to let the three children go with the suspect to grab a bite to eat while she remained at the hospital," as mentioned in a Facebook statement by law enforcement.

The mother and the suspected perpetrator share the parenthood of the child receiving medical care at the hospital.

Authorities continue to withhold the suspect's identity until next-of-kin notifications are completed, as they delve deeper into the circumstances surrounding this heartbreaking incident.

The suspect met with the mother, her three children, and their shared child at the hospital, ultimately leading to the tragic events at Lucky Shoals Park. The suspect's identity will be disclosed upon completion of next-of-kin notification procedures.

Law Enforcement's Response and Community Impact

Gwinnett County authorities are currently investigating a potential murder-suicide involving an adult and three children.

The discovery unfolded shortly after 1:00 a.m. as an officer from the West Precinct conducted routine checks at Lucky Shoals Park in Tucker.

Upon encountering a suspiciously parked vehicle along a pedestrian trail, the officer attempted communication with its occupants to no avail.

Subsequently, upon closer inspection, the officer found the lifeless bodies of four individuals inside the 4-door passenger car, including an adult male driver and three children, comprising two girls and one boy of elementary and middle school ages.

While the case is being treated as a possible murder-suicide pending final evaluation by the Medical Examiner's Office, specialized units such as the Homicide Unit and Crime Scene Unit are actively processing the scene for a thorough investigation.

Expressing deep concern, Gwinnett County Police Sgt. Michele Pihera characterized the incident as a tragic event, emphasizing the department's commitment to conducting a comprehensive inquiry akin to any other homicide case.

The objective is to provide closure and answers to the families impacted by this heartbreaking tragedy. Pihera stated, "try to, at least, bring some conclusion to the families who may be involved."
