"Edge of Tomorrow" actress and new mother Emily Blunt embraces motherhood and her post-baby body with enthusiasm. The actress credits her co-star, Tom Cruise, for giving her a solid workout to prepare for her daughter's birth, while admitting that raising Hazel is her most demanding job ever.
Speaking with Independent, Blunt said that she couldn't have gone back to her ideal weight if not for Tom. "He should be credited as the new diet pill because he asked me to do Edge of Tomorrow, so I was in such good shape when I got pregnant, so after I had Hazel it was easier to bounce back," the actress said in jest.
Emily gave birth to Hazel last February 2014 and since then, life with her new daughter, as well as husband, John Krasinski, has been "overwhelming."
"It changes you infinitely in a rather overwhelming way. The best way I can describe it is that it's like this lovely distraction that I always have," the actress said, according to Daily Mail. "It's always there and I love that feeling."
The 32-year-old British mother, who has became an American citizen last August, has been learning to adjust to life in Los Angeles, and admits that she has a love-hate relationship with her new place. "I hate that it's a one-industry town and that the quest for success emanates from every corner of it. It can be suffocating in some ways," she said. "But I love my friends there, I love the weather and it's a very easy place to raise a child."
Emily and her husband has a place in the city, but they also retire some days in Ojai, a valley north of Los Angeles, "which is lovely and offers more respite than the city," she added.
Meanwhile, Screen Rant reported that Emily will soon reprise her role as Rita Vrataski in the filming of the "Edge of Tomorrow" sequel, even as there's still no confirmation of the film being actually in production. Back in September, the actress spoke with Hit Fix about the possibility of "Edge of Tomorrow 2."
"There is an idea in the works. I have no idea what the idea is but I have had a couple of calls from like [screenwriter Chris] McQuarrie and Tom [Cruise] and like a couple of emails testing the waters as to whether that would be interesting," she told the news outlet. Should the movie happen, Emily said she'd be thrilled to get a workout again.
