Woman in Chicago Hosts an Event on Mother's Day
Some women experience Mother's Day with dread, especially those who have lost children. Octavia Mitchell, who lost her son to gun violence, has been hosting a Mother's Day event for four years to support others who share her grief.
Despite her pain, Mitchell founded the "Heal Your Heart Foundation" to assist others in their healing process. The event also offers solace to those mourning the loss of siblings.
Krista Loston, who lost her son to gun violence, highlights the need for change to prevent more mothers from suffering. Although shootings in Chicago have lessened by 7% compared to last year, there have still been 625 circumstances so far this year.
