5-Year-Old Girl Dies From Swing Set Accident
A tragic play accident claimed the life of a young girl from Colorado after she was strangled by a swing set in her backyard.
The 5-year-old girl from Fort Collins, Aurora Masters, was innocently playing on her swing set in their residence when the incident occurred.
Fort Collins is located approximately 63 miles north of Denver. According to the Fort Collins Police Department, officers arrived at the scene and provided medical assistance until Emergency Medical Services (EMS) took over.
With that, Aurora was then immediately transported to a local hospital, where the young child succumbed to her injuries on May 11.
Police authorities at the crime scene have ruled the incident an accident and are not pursuing further investigation, as there is no evidence of criminal activity involved. Furthermore, the Larimer County Coroner's Office has yet to release the official cause of death.
Brenda Kennedy, Aurora's great-aunt, shared that the child had moved her plastic slide near the swing and somehow became entangled, leading to the fatal accident. "She pulled her little plastic slide over to where her swing was and somehow got caught up in the swing, and the swing strangled her."
Kennedy has also organized a GoFundMe campaign in memory of Aurora.

Messages of support also started pouring in on the page from people who knew the 5-year-old girl and her family.
The GoFundMe campaign outlines that the raised funds will cover Aurora's memorial and funeral services, with any surplus directed to organizations that honor her memory.
As of the latest update, the campaign has garnered $26,000 towards its $30,000 target.
"We are overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and kindness from everyone," Kennedy conveyed gratefully. "Your support is a source of strength for us during this challenging time."
Over the weekend, Brenda Kennedy shared on a fundraising page that Aurora continues to undergo evaluations to maximize her potential as an organ and tissue donor. Kennedy elaborated that Aurora was involved in an accident involving a swing, resulting in her receiving care at Children's Hospital Colorado in Aurora.
The family plans to allocate the donations from the fundraiser, including proceeds from an event in Loveland, towards Aurora's celebration of life, with any excess going towards charitable organizations in her honor.
