Remains of Missing Mom of 2 Were Found in Dawson Creek, B.C.
Renee Didier, who sometimes went by the surname Supernant, was found on May 18 close to the Kiskatinaw River, west of Dawson Creek in northeastern B.C.
A Cree female and mom of two, Didier was last seen on surveillance footage at a gas station on December 3, 2023, and was reported to disappeared on December 7.
Didier, who was 40 at the time of her vanishing, is one of four people who disappeared from Dawson Creek last year. This city, situated in the Peace River region about 740 kilometers north of Vancouver and 20 kilometers from the Alberta border, has a population of 12,000.
These disappearances led to extensive community searches and raised concerns about public safety. Among the missing is Didier's cousin, Darylyn Supernant, last seen on March 15, 2023.
Also missing are 24-year-old Dave Daniel Domingo, believed to have been in a rural area near Dawson Creek on August 29 when police responded to reports of a possible shooting, and 24-year-old Cole Hosack from Prince George, who was last seen on New Year's Eve at the same bar where Didier was last seen before she disappeared.
On April 19, police also discovered human remains on the 219 Road near Saskatoon Creek, north of Dawson Creek, but have not yet recognized them.
Didier's grandmother, Verna Cardinal, characterized her as a "fun-loving" mom of two who was always laughing. Cardinal expressed concern that Didier had been associating with individuals involved with drugs shortly before her disappearance, though it was unusual for her not to stay in contact.
Cardinal was supposed to pick Didier up the night she disappeared, but Didier never called.
The family has requested privacy following Didier's discovery.
Anybody with data about Didier's demise or disappearance is pressed to contact the Dawson Creek RCMP at 250-784-3700 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
Autopsy on the Remains of the Cree Woman
An autopsy conducted by the BC Coroners Service was performed on the remains, although both the Coroner and the police have refrained from disclosing any details regarding the possible cause of Didier's death.
The remains were found on May 18 west of Highway 97 by an industrial worker conducting river water tests. Didier was reported missing on December 2nd, and surveillance footage from a gas station in the early hours of December 3rd captured the last known images of her.
Didier, who occasionally used the surname Supernant, was 40 years old at the time of her disappearance. She is among four individuals who have gone missing from Dawson Creek within the past 15 months. The others still missing are Darylyn Supernant, Cole Hosack, and Dave Domingo.
The BC RCMP North District Major Crime Unit has taken over the inspection and is seeking any data from the public that may help in their inquiries.
