A 23-year-old woman speculated of murdering her three roommates in Virginia was arrested after a pursuit on a highway in upstate New York, police reported on Friday.

Authorities had been seeking Alyssa Jane Venable after deputies from the Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office found two men and a woman dead from "upper body trauma" during a welfare check on Tuesday night in Fredericksburg, Virginia, according to the sheriff's office.
The casualties included Robert John McGuire, 77; Gregory Scott Powell (60); and Carol Anne Reese (65).
The sheriff's office issued a declaration identifying Venable as the suspect in light of the disturbing crime, which was committed by his roommate. A third count of second-degree killing and a charge of firearms were being sought against her.
Over 300 miles from Fredericksburg, New York State Police troopers arrested Venable on Thursday evening. State Police reported that she protested to adhere to with troopers' request to stop her in a gray Honda Civic on Interstate 86 shortly after 5:30 p.m.
After being trailed by troopers, she was hit with a tire deflation device that caused her car to crash and reach speeds of 100 mph. The State Police received assistance from the Steuben County Sheriff's Office.
Venable was taken to a hospital for non-life-threatening wounds, state police said. She is now imprisoned at the Steuben County jail. State Police noted that troopers will proceed with extradition arrangements.
The sheriff's office did not instantly answer a request for comment, and State Police declared they could not comment on a possible intention.

Venable was captured after police identified a gray 2009 Honda Civic matching her vehicle's description and attempted to stop her. Venable refused to pull over, leading to a high-speed chase that reached 100 mph.
Authorities used a tire deflation device, causing her car to crash. She was taken into custody without further scene and transferred to a local hospital for medication. No other injuries occurred during the chase.
New York State Police are working on obtaining a fugitive warrant for Venable, with extradition arrangements pending. The investigation is ongoing and the New York State Police are expected to release further comment.
The authorities were asked by Jane Venable, the grandmother of the girl who was worried about her granddaughter's safety, to treat her as a person of interest. Being a vulnerable person Jane thinks she'll be sought after.
Officials have expressed concern that both sides of the issue could pose a threat to her. The grandmother has also expressed her desire that the police would consider Venable as someone who also requires immediate aid.
Police and a former colleague claimed that Venable had exhibited violent outbursts before, as per the allegations. Following an incident at a McDonald's where she was employed, she faced charges of assault and battery last month.
Bianca Smith, a former colleague, told the outlet that she would snap at you quickly if something went wrong. "I feel like she was always in shitstorms."
Neighbors noted that Venable had moved into the home about a month ago. It is unclear if the victims were related to her.
