Current high school graduate Suborno Isaac Bari, aged 12, plans to begin studies in mathematics and physics at New York University later this year. Despite his youth, he is already setting visionary goals, aiming to start a doctoral program shortly.

Suborno Isaac Bari Youngest Graduate from Long Island High School

Suborno expressed his goal to graduate from college by spring 2026, at the age of 14. He recently achieved the distinction of being the youngest graduate from his Long Island high school.

Suborno discussed his future academic goals, noting that while he may consider pursuing a second Ph.D. in physics, his primary focus remains on mathematics.

Suborno was recognized for his exceptional abilities from a young age-he memorized the periodic table at 2 and has been lecturing at colleges in India since age 7-celebrated his graduation from Malverne High School in Nassau County, New York, just recently.

Skipping to the 12th grade after completing ninth grade, Suborno has set records as the youngest-ever graduate from his high school.

Reflecting on his academic accomplishments, Suborno mentioned that his high school employs a 100-point GPA scale. He maintained around a 96 GPA in his first year and a 98 in his second and final year.

During his 12th-grade year, Suborno engaged in non-degree courses at several New York universities, including NYU, Stony Brook University, the City University of New York, and Brooklyn College. He described this experience as a significant challenge due to the increased workload and condensed schedule compared to traditional schooling.

Beyond academics, Suborno is also proficient in painting, debate, and playing the piano, demonstrating a diverse range of talents.

12-Year-Old Gifted Teen Eyes Historic on Admission to NYU

As he prepares to embark on his bachelor of science degree journey at NYU, Suborno could potentially make history as one of the youngest students admitted to the university, according to information shared by a university spokesperson.

Suborno's early introduction to education by his parents, Rashidul and Shaheda Bari, both educators themselves, played a crucial role in nurturing his intellectual development.

Suborno explained that his parents recognized his talent at an early age. His father, teaching physics, and his mother, an elementary school teacher, noticed his abilities from a young age.

Suborno's academic journey began with basic math lessons from his mother, leading to early displays of advanced mathematical understanding that caught the attention of educators and peers alike.

His father recounted, "In 2014, my wife, who was his teacher at the time, noticed his exceptional abilities. It started with basic math, and he quickly progressed to abstract concepts."

President Barack Obama even recognized Suborno's achievements with a letter in 2016, when he was just 7 years old. Since then, he has been invited to teach college-level courses in India multiple times a year.

Looking ahead, Suborno plans to continue his family's tradition of teaching by becoming a professor of mathematics and physics, driven by his fascination with uncovering the mysteries of the universe.

As he prepares for the challenges and opportunities at NYU, Suborno eagerly anticipates engaging with fellow students who share his passion for math and science.
