A 1-year-old boy, named a miracle baby, survived two days alone in stormy weather after his 4-year-old sibling was discovered dead and their mother was taken into custody.

On Tuesday, July 9, around 9 a.m. local time, deputies from the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office responded to a call after a truck driver saw the toddler crawling along I-10 eastbound near mile marker 10 in Vinton, Louisiana.

The child endured two days of occasionally severe rainfall before being found, following the death of his older brother and the arrest of their mother in Mississippi.

Miracle Baby Survives Crawling Along Roadside

On July 8, deputies from the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office were called to the Vinton Welcome Center after a body was discovered in the water.
The CPSO Marine Division recovered the body of a juvenile child, who was first described as a young kid and was latterly linked as a 4-year-old boy.

The 4-year-old youthful boy was reportedly last seen on Saturday with his mom, Aaliyah N. Jack, 25, of Lake Charles, and the 1-year-old miracle baby. Police authorities and rescuers were intended to search for his baby brother in the surrounding area where the lifeless body was found. The infant was not in close proximity.

Even so, the hunt for the 1-year-old continued, and on the morning of July 9, around 9:00 a.m., deputies responded to a report of a baby seen in a gutter on I-10 eastbound near afar marker 10. Deputies fleetly responded to the report of a baby crawling on the roadside and verified the child was the missing 1-year-old.

During a press briefing on July 9, Sheriff Gary "Stitch" Guillory described the discovered baby as a phenomenon, marveling at the child's survival.

Guillory emotionally recounted how the 1-year-old had endured two days exposed to the elements by the roadside, expressing gratitude that a passing trucker had spotted the infant. Guillory said the 1-year-old had multiple bug bites, but otherwise seemed to be okay.

In addition, he mentioned that the baby had several bug bites but appeared to be otherwise fine. Police confirmed in the news release that the baby had been taken to a local hospital and was in stable condition.

Mother's Arrest in Mississippi

Following further investigation, detectives issued a BOLO (Be on the Lookout) to other law enforcement agencies and obtained an arrest warrant for Jack, authorized by Judge Tony Fazzio with a bond set at $300,000.

The warrant charged Jack with failure to report a missing child. She was arrested in Mississippi by the Meridian Police Department and taken into custody without the 1-year-old.

Police authorities are continuing their examination, and further charges may be filed. The coroner will determine the cause of death.

Sheriff Stitch Guillory stated that this is a tragic incident under investigation. He confirmed that the 1-year-old was found and taken to a local hospital for evaluation and is now safe in the care of authorities.

Guillory assured the community of the commitment to ensuring justice for the children involved, emphasizing that CPSO detectives are diligently working to gather all necessary information and details surrounding the case and the death of the 4-year-old.

All required resources will be dedicated to ensure a thorough investigation, and the family's sorrow is deeply felt by the department.
