In what might be the cutest crime of the year, 7-year-old Olivia Myers from Gloucester, Massachusetts, was caught red-handed "dognapping" her neighbor’s pooch, Gunnar. The entire escapade was captured on Amanda Sullivan’s outdoor camera, who later shared the hilarious clip on TikTok.

Olivia, already the proud owner of a 6-year-old English bulldog named Lincoln, clearly has room in her heart for more. Gunnar, Sullivan’s 11-year-old husky, has been Olivia's furry friend for two years, and their bond is undeniable.

Gunnar originally served as Sullivan’s cardiac alert and mobility service dog. His career came to an unexpected halt after he suffered a spinal cord stroke. Although Gunnar is now 85% recovered, the loss of his two siblings and his limited mobility left him feeling down.

“He was a bit doggy depressed,” Sullivan shared.

To shake things up, Sullivan began taking Gunnar on different neighborhood walks, and that’s when they encountered the Myers family, who lives just three houses away. The second-grader and the husky hit it off instantly.

Adorable Mischief Caught on Camera

But Olivia’s affection for Gunnar took a mischievous turn when she was caught on camera casually sneaking into Sullivan’s yard. Armed with a homemade collar that read “Olivia’s Boy,” she knelt in front of Gunnar, removed his “Mama’s Boy” collar, and replaced him with a stuffed husky dog.

Not satisfied with just swapping collars, Olivia beckoned Gunnar to follow her home. While Gunnar hesitated, glancing back at his owner’s house as if seeking permission, he ultimately trotted after Olivia.

@corporalgunnar She stole my dog in broad day light!!! Can you believe that?! When your 7 year old neighbor just wants a play date with her dog bestie... she steals him and leaves behind a replacement. Shoutout to @Tactipup with the always awesome collars and the @Wyze cam OG for capturing this theft! ‍️ #stolendog #tiktok #dogs #funny #funnyvideos ♬ Sneak, suspicious, stupid, thief, sneak in(1108491) - Makotti

Sullivan, who watched the whole thing unfold via her phone’s live video feed, was in stitches. Rather than stop the innocent “theft,” she let Olivia feel victorious for a few moments before heading down the street to retrieve her dog.

“I can’t say that you can call it ‘stealing’ when he goes willingly,” Sullivan laughed.

TikTok viewers have since fallen in love with the light-hearted story, as Olivia’s sassy personality and Gunnar’s sweet nature steal the show in more ways than one.
