Scott Disick Rehab Stint A Bid To Boost Child-Custody Chances

Following reports that his estranged partner wants primary physical custody of their children, Scott Disick, who separated from Kourtney Kardashian over the summer, has entered a rehab facility and is working on improving his child-custody chances.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Disick checked himself over the weekend and hopes that this will work this time around. Last March, Disick also underwent rehab for alcohol abuse in Costa Rica, but the treatment didn't last long. In a previous report by TMZ, the reality TV star cited that he had too many business deals to manage in Los Angeles, hence he left the facility after a few days. Rehabilitation usually takes 21 days, the news outlet reported.

This time, the 32-year-old father of three is in a facility in Malibu and has reportedly cut ties with his party-going friends. The LA Times report stated that by doing this, Disick hopes that he will be granted unsupervised visitation with his children, while he and Kourtney settle financial matters.

According to Hollywood Life, Kourtney has been preventing Scott from seeing their children, Mason, 5, Penelope, 3, and Reign, 10 months. "She was protecting the children, not letting them see him in the state he was in. As long as Scott was partying and drinking Scott was not going to be allowed to see his kids," a source told the news outlet. "And just being sober for a day or two wasn't enough. He's doing this for himself but also for his kids. He wants to have partial custody and their children and getting sober is the only way to do it," the source added.

According to E! Online, no official paperwork to the primary physical custody petition has been filed by Kourtney just yet, and since the two are not legally married, a custody agreement hasn't been enforced by the court.

There are reports that Scott wants to get back together with the mother of his kids and sources close to the couple are betting that they eventually will. "I'm sure they can work it out. There are three kids, he lives not that far from her. Once he gets this out of his system I'm hoping that it will be somewhat back to normal," said Jonathan Cheban, TheDishh founder via People.

"They're really the best together. They're perfect together," he added. "So with anybody else it would be like weird. At this point it's hard to get with our program. I'm hoping everything works out.
