Since "Fast and Furious 8" was confirmed, fans have been drooling about the details of the hit street-racing franchise. How will the team pursue the next film without one of their most influential co-star Paul Walker in the picture?
In an earlier report from Parent Herald, it was confirmed that there will be no more CGI of Walker in the upcoming film "Fast and Furious 8." According to franchise producer Neal H. Mortiz, Paul's character has moved on but they still have a lot of great characters to be mined.
It's sad and for sure, Bryan O'Connor will be greatly missed in the upcoming films. The "Fast and Furious" team will never be complete after Walker's untimely demise.
However, despite Walker's death, his influence in the movie didn't stop. In fact, his plans and wants were considered by Diesel and the team. In a separate report from Parent Herald, Michelle Rodriguez teases that "Fast and Furious 8" will pay tribute to Paul by bringing back the film into its original plot, street racing.
"Paul] wanted to bring it back down to the core, which is the racing," Rodriguez said. "He was always complaining about the special effects and the blue screens," and wants to end the "exaggerated explosions and crazy plot lines."
Perhaps, this is among the reasons that the production team is bringing "Fast and Furious 8" in New York.
Last Wednesday night, Diesel appeared on the "Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon" and the "Fast and Furious" star and producer confirmed the trilogy. When asked by the host where the next franchise will take place, Diesel said "New York, baby!," according to ComicBook.com.
"Something that people don't know is the first movie came from a Vibe article that was about street races in New York, and the director and producer at the time reset the whole movie in LA. But the Vibe article that the whole franchise was started from actually originated in New York. So, we're finally bringing it back home, baby!" Diesel explained.
In a separate report from Parent Herald, Diesel also disclosed that his two films "Fast and Furious 8" and "XXX 3" are in a race to production. The actor revealed that "XXX 3" will start filming in the Philippines in December.
In fact, many are concerned that "Fast and Furious 8" will be delayed due to his commitments with "XXX3." However, many believe that "Fast 8" will be produced first.
According to Cinema Blend, "Fast and Furious 7" has a huge earning, so it's not surprising if Universal wants to fast track "Fast and Furious 8." Second, the production has already announced the film's released date. And, third, they have an in-demand director in the person of F. Gary Gray.
"Fast and Furious 8" premieres on April 14, 2017.
