'Corpse Party: Blood Drive News Update: Horror-Thriller Title Out In Time For Halloween; New Trailer Released [Video]

The doors of Heavenly Host Elementary School has reopened, giving PlayStation Vita owners the opportunity to take the adventurous journey of facing an army of vengeful spirits in "Corpse Party: Blood Drive."

According to Cinema Blend "Corpse Party: Blood Drive" is the third and final installment of the horror video game series that crawled from the grave on the PlayStation Portable. This third entry is finally available on PlayStation Vita.

The report suggests that this is among those sequels where playing its forbearears is almost required. Although the digital manual offers a lot of information and there's the unlocking of the in-game Encyclopedia to assist players in filling the gap of the story plot, it's a different experience if one visits the Heaven Host in the first couple of games.

Missing the Heavenly Host may feel like some of the plot details are missing. It will also be challenging who the characters are and what motivates them, if the player didn't survive the first nightmares.

Those surviving members of the Kisaragi Academy's class 2-9, the first "Corpse Party" game are struggling to readjust themselves in the real world. They are finding it difficult to live a normal life after the death of their friends.

What makes the matter worse is that all of the memories and records of those who died were wiped away, as if they didn't exist. Thus, the survivors were left to deal with their loss on their own, Game Planet has learned.

When Ayumi, Satoshi, Yuka, Naomi and Yoshiki learned that there's a way to restore their lost companions they will take it. But that journey will require them to return to Heavenly Host Elementary School, where all the horror began.

"Corpse Party: Blood Drive" is the series' first venture into 3D, where players can control the different versions of the characters in a more dangerous side of the Heavenly Host.

The game is also creepier, it is filled with deadly obstacles like broken glass, crumbling floor and traps. One has to proceed with caution with just the aid of a flashlight and whatever item the player can find along the way, like batteries.

Cinema Blend stressed that the real tension of the "Corpse Party: Blood Drive" is the building itself. The building is the killer and not the annoying ghosts in sight. Thus, the player has to run for his life through the corridors filled with peril with the vengeful spirits on the loose.

XSEED has launched a trailer to tease fans of the horror that await them in "Corpse Party: Blood Drive," which is a direct sequel to the "Book of Shadows," according to VG 247. Watch the trailer below!
