It has been a while since the Grammy-winning singer, Adele, released a new album. However, during a commercial run on "The X Factor UK" Sunday, fans were surprised to see a short clip of what sounded like Adele's singing a new song.
According to BBC, the short teaser that ran as a TV ad didn't reveal any face or name, nor any details about the album, but its sound was quite distinctive. Adele's voice could be heard singing, with only the lyrics displayed against a black background in the 20-second teaser. "Hello/It's me/I was wondering if after all these years you'd like to meet/To go over everything. They say that time's supposed to heal ya/But I ain't done much healing," the lyrics stated.
The news outlet also reported that it has been five years since Adele's last album was released and a new one is rumored to be out by November. According to Billboard, there were no official comments about the ad from "The X Factor" or the singer herself and even Sony Music Entertainment didn't make any confirmation.
Adele's first album, "19," was released in 2008 after the singer worked on it for two years. She won the Best New Artist award for this at the Grammys, according to Daily Mail. Her second album, "21," released in 2011, also after two years of working on it, marked Adele's status as a hit maker as the album ended up in many best-list, including Billboard's Top The 20 Best Albums of the 2010s (So Far).
According to NME, the third album due this November is rumored to be called "25," in keeping with the other titles of Adele's albums. Rumored to have collaborated with singer for "25" included Gnarls Barkley's Brian Burton, Swedish hitmaker Max Martin and One Republic's Ryan Tedder, said the BBC report.
After the teaser came out, One Republic simply posted, "Adele :)" on its twitter account, while also not confirming anything about the album's release.
Adele's last work since going on hiatus to become a mother and work on her latest album was the theme song to the 2012 James Bond movie "Skyfall." According to Mirror, she was also asked to do the theme song for the upcoming Bond film, "Spectre" as Daniel Craig's personal choice. "Filmmakers were prepared to offer millions but Adele was never up for it," a source said via Daily Star.
