Hollywood award-winning star and mother-of-three Kate Winslet, 40, is proud of her relationship with her kids and she's especially grateful for her eldest, Mia, 15, when it comes to taking care of her other children.
"Her brain works the same way that mine does now, which is brilliant," said the star of "Steve Jobs" in an interview with People. "I love a forward-thinking daughter."
The actress shared that she can count on Mia for looking after her sons, Mia's half-brothers, Joe, 11 and Bear, 22 months and the young girl has been "incredibly helpful to me as a woman." She could take shower breaks and run errands even with a toddler in the house because Mia can babysit her bother without any problems.
"Children should play with each other, you know? And look after each other. That's really what we have, and it's very special," she said, according to The Spec.
Mia is Kate's first child with ex-husband director Jim Threapleton, whom she divorced in 2001. Joe is her son with another ex-husband, director Sam Mendes, whom she divorced in 2011. The youngest, Bear, is her son with current partner Ned Rocknroll, whom she married in 2012.
Meanwhile, as much as Kate gushes over her teenage daughter, Danny Boyle, her director on "Steve Jobs," has nothing but praises for the actress. According to MSN, Kate often had ways with people on the set of the movie. "She would fix everything - you know, extras, any problem, even people crying," said the Boyle. "She's hilarious and fun to hang out with. And she is not afraid to offer her input into a situation."
However, the actress insisted that she try not to interfere too much on other people's affairs, but it's probably her mother's instinct kicking in. "I don't go around sort of mothering everyone, but I make it my job to find out exactly what's going on all the time," the actress said.
With "Steve Jobs" newly released in theaters, Kate, Boyle and lead star Michael Fassbender are busy doing the festival and press rounds. Kate played Joanna Hoffman in the movie, who was a colleague of the Apple founder.
"There weren't many women in Steve's life who could stand up to him in that way but also give him a big hug before a launch," she said, according to BBC. "Joanna saw the film and said she really like it and enjoyed the fact that Michael [Fassbender] was able to show some of Steve's 'real warmth.'"
