There is no doubt that the fans of the "Kingdom Hearts" series are looking forward to play the game's next installment. Many are drooling to learn more about anticipated game "Kingdom Hearts 3," but will the title be arriving in the market soon?
"Kingdom Hearts 3" is already in its last stage of production. Initially, the game was thought to be available in May 2015, MCRUNCH reports. However, to the dismay of many gamers it wasn't.
The report claims that "Kingdom Hearts 3" might arrive in December 2015, since Amazon has already listed the game. However, gamers who are eager to play the title should take the report with a grain of salt because it's possible that Amazon is just taking in pre-orders of the game or it could be nothing more than just a placeholder.
"Kingdom Hearts 3" director Tetsuya Nomura disclosed that the late arrival of the game is due to their switching of engines during the development. In an interview with GamesTM, Nomura answered the questions concerning the team's struggle in adapting the new engine.
"The transition was quite a process. We pretty much had to start from the ground again. We had to make sure that we could recreate our key effects in the Unreal Engine and that the effects we specifically needed for Kingdom Hearts could be adapted," Nomura said.
"We were also developing a Kingdom Hearts-specific shader and we had to make a lot of adjustments so we could use that shader on the new engine. That goes a long way to explaining the long distance between the announcement and now, when we're able to reveal more information about the title."
Other than sharing the challenge in using a new engine, Nomura also revealed that they do not have intentions of skipping the PS3 era. It's jus that bringing "Kingdom Hearts" to console has a very high bar to reach. The team acknowledges fans eagerness to play something greater than "Kingdom Hearts 2" but he was not able to start on a project that big and the developers were committed to another project.
"We needed to get our experience and polish our skills at creating Kingdom Hearts games so that there was a proper preparation for a big title like Kingdom Hearts III. It just happened that this preparation took the life cycle of the PS3," he said.
As for the number of playable characters the first game features one playable character, the second, two, so it's likely that the third title may feature three. When Nomura was asked he declined to answer stating that he can't disclose anything.
Well, let's see. In an earlier report from Parent Herald, more information of "Kingdom Hearts 3" will be revealed in the upcoming D23 event next month. Many are hoping that "Kingdom Heart 3's" release date will be among the big revelations.
