After she admitted struggling with getting pregnant, "Lip Sync Battle" corresponder Chrissy Teigen announced she is expecting her first child with husband John Legend.
The couple revealed the news through an Instagram photo that came with the caption on Oct. 13"
"John and I are so happy to announce that we are pregnant," Chrissy captioned a photo of her husband rubbing her teeny tiny baby bump. "As many of you know, we've been trying to have a baby for a while now. It hasn't been easy, but we kept trying because we can't wait to bring our first child into the world and grow our family. We're so excited that it's finally happening. Thank you for all your love and well wishes. I look forward to all the belly touching!"
The 29-year-old expectant mom then followed up with a baby bump selfie on Sunday showing her growing belly. "Somebody is early to the party," wrote Chrissy along with three emojis.
While there were lots of well wishers, there were those that tossed out their accusations. E! Online reports that minutes after people started commenting and liking the photo, there were comments that assumed Teigen and her 36-year-old musician husband were expecting twins or possibly triplets .
The site noted two posts as examples, the first saying, "Uh @ChrissyTeigen from the looks of that bump, I think u might be expecting twins!! Isn't it kinda early to be already shown like that?" Another wrote, "@ChrissyTeigen you got big fast! My bestie is due in Feb and she's 1/2 your size. Not twins? Probably triplets."
The FABLife co-host was quick to set the record straight. "I did IVF. One at a time. It isn't twins. I can see the damn thing," she explained on Twitter. "Get out of my uterus!"
Unfortunately for Chrissy, people didn't stop. Exchanges were made over social media for about two hours as other users were saying an embryo can split into twins. News.com.au reports that one named Erica Taylor pushed that it's a "big possibility its twins if you were using IVF."
She quickly added, "Please stop. I put one embryo in. I have ultrasounds every few days. I didn't announce [my pregnancy] at a week." According to a source who spoke to E! The model is currently three months pregnant.
Teigen quickly turned her frustration around into something more positive. While maintaining her sense of humor, she managed to keep things on a good note.
"It's my own karma! I love bumps so I loved saying how round/big/beautiful they are on others. Don't worry, friends," she said. "No more preg tweeting for me, lesson learned!! Back to food and reality TV and hay things."
