Fans of the "Grand Theft Auto" franchise might have been elated with Rockstar Games' announcement last week on their website, saying that the "GTA Online: Lowriders" DLC will be released on Oct. 20. With the nearing of its much-anticipated release, here's everything you need to know about the game.
Available for PlayStation, Xbox One and PC, Rockstar Games notes that "GTA Online: Lowriders" will still cater to car aficionados by offering new places and options to customize and get their cars in Los Santos and Blaine County. One of these new customs shop is Benny's Original Motor Works located in downtown Strawberry. The shop is a heaven for lowrider customizations as, according to Rockstar Games, Benny's Original Motor Works "can turn your classic junker into a high-spec, tricked-out king of the streets."
Players can choose from six customizable vehicles on the shop's website, which players can visit through the shortcut on the in-game phone. Players can then bring their chosen rides to Benny himself to unlock various customization mods such as coating interiors with different materials (leather, velour, patterns), primping the engine with air filters and covers, adding customized dial designs as well as new steering wheels and shift levers. For maximum lowrider style, Benny's Original Motorworks in "GTA Online: Lowrider" can also give added lifts via hydraulics.
Apart from detailed customization, players can "show off" their new lowriders by using the Player Interaction Menu. This enables the player to open car doors, hood and trunk while located inside or outside the car. Gamers can also control the car's engine to flash neon lights or boost the radio's stereo for added swag. In the ammo department, "GTA Online: Lowriders" introduces the fully automatic Machine Pistol or Machete from Ammu-Nation.
Not to be missed is the additional garage space by buying a fourth property, which enables players to purchase more vehicles. Also, in "GTA Online: Lowriders," the game still centers on key character Lamar as he goes through never-before-seen missions.
According to a report from iDigital Times, the new "GTA Online: Lowriders" DLC is the first of many exclusive "GTA Online" updates for consoles and PC. The DLC, which is packed with new customization options, vehicles, missions and weapons, is something that "Grand Theft Auto" fans will be giddy about.
With the success of "GTA Heists," iDigital Times expects that Rockstar Games will develop more "groundbreaking" future updates, and they expect nothing less from "GTA Online: Lowriders."
Will the "GTA Online: Lowriders" be up to par with the previously released "GTA Heists"? We'll have to wait until Oct. 20 to know.
