Fans are looking forward to learning more about the arcade fighting game "Pokken Tournament." The title combines the gameplay elements from Bandai Namco's "Tekken" series taking its characters from the popular "Pokemon" franchise.
Unfortunately, only little is known about "Pokken Tournament" following the announcement that the game will be coming to Wii U consoles in 2016, iDigitalTimes reports. At this time a smart trailer featuring more gameplay from the anticipated game may give fans a new perspective about the fighting game.
The new trailer showcased the fighters in action, quite similar to the previous trailers but the new "Pokken Tournament" trailer shows how the game in arcade across Japan is. According to KitGuru the title's arcade controller is huge.
In the history gaming, controllers have gone through several revisions and improvement from the Intellivision's turn wheel and numpad, to N64's controller that requires three hands. After those developments, things have settled down in the recent years. While there's a lot of buzz about touch controls for VR, gamepads look somewhat the same in general, with dual sticks, four face buttons and a D-Pad.
However, the arcade controller of "Pokken Tournament" is a bit different. Athough, it still features a D-Pad and four face button, the parts were stretched far further apart than usual. A start button is placed somewhere in-between. While the controller possesses what regular controllers have, many are wondering at why the controller comes in the said size, it was so huge.
The huge controller is featured in the game's latest trailer which also shows the stylized arcade cabinet that many assumes is already available in its home country Japan, where the game was released back in July.
According to iDigitalTimes, the controller is very similar to the Wii U Gamecube controller, which had people thought was coming to Nintendo's console from the start.
The home console, Wii U version will be arriving in the North America sometime in the second quarter of 2016, if Bandai Namco will stick to its schedule.
The game which takes the "Pokemon" and "Tekken" in one stage has been among the video games that both "Pokemon" and "Tekken" fans and players are looking forward to have their hands on. We knew that Pokemon are designed and bred to fight, but the encounter in the TVseries is very different with the action-filled encounter in "Tekken."
While, the latest trailer does not offer new information about the game, it highlights the unseen Pokemon in fighting action. Take a look at the "Pokken Tournament's" new trailer below.
