As the theater run for "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" draws nearer, marketing and promotion for the movie has slowly been accelerating in the past few weeks. It's no doubt that this is one of the highly anticipated films next year and this week, fans are buzzing about the "Batman V Superman" feature on Total Film magazine.
Henry Cavill, who plays Superman, shared the cover of the magazine for his very first post on Instagram. "So I've finally taken the leap into social media! And here's a little treat for you all in the form of a sneak peak of the Batman v Superman cover shot from Total Film magazine, before the issue comes out on Friday. @batmanvsuperman #batmanvsuperman #totalfilm," the actor wrote.
Within hours, the post received over 12,500 likes and 2,400 comments, while Henry's followers immediately grew to 112,000 on the social media site.
More photos from the magazine feature soon made its way online, showing behind-the-scenes shots that highlighted its three stars—Cavill, Ben Affleck (as Batman) and Gal Gadot (as Wonder Woman), as posted on Games Radar. The news outlet reported that the magazine can already be picked up at newsstands by Oct. 23.
Meanwhile, writer and producer David Goyer could not help but be excited about "Batman V. Superman," after previewing the film. "I think just the kind of giddiness in being a kid that grew up going to the comic book store every Saturday and reading comic books in which these two epic characters clashed. Just the fact that I got to be involved in something like that is crazy," he told Collider.
"There's some cool stuff that happens in the film, let's just leave it at that," Goyer teased.
Director Zack Snyder also had a chance to talk to the press this week when he was honoring Batman creator Bob Kane, who received his Hollywood Walk of Fame posthumously.
During the Q & A, Snyder admitted that he really wanted to have an older Batman for this movie. "I wanted a war-weary Batman. That's why, in a lot of ways, Ben was really perfect for me—we kind of aged him a little bit. It worked really great. I'm really excited about the Batman we created," he told Comic Book Resources in an interview.
The director also said that there's more movie-goers can expect in the coming months, as people have only seen two trailers so far.
"Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" opens March 25, 2016.
