'Dishonored 2' Release Date & Trailer: Gameplay Title Delayed? Nope, Bethesda Eyeing Flexible 2016 Launch Date [Rumors]

Fans have been looking forward to the release date of "Dishonored 2" but gamers were alarmed with the rumors that the title might be delayed.

"Dishonored 2" is a first-person action-adventure stealth game and the sequel to the original video game "Dishonored." The upcoming title features a brand new protagonist as a second playable character. The game is developed by Arkane Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks, according to Gaming Bolt.

The title is expected to be out in the first or second quarter of 2016, per iDigitalTimes, when "Dishonored 2" was announced the title was given a release date of Spring 2016. Unfortunately, there's hysteria among the gaming community concerning the possible delay of "Dishonored 2," Venture Capital Post reports.

The game's release date was first hinted during a press conference on the 2015, E3. The report claims that a Youtuber by the name of Matty Schroeder noticed a conversation on a presentation of "Dishonored" Co-Director Harvey Smith. The conversation includes a heavy French-accented voice, which was later confirmed to be of Arkane Studio's President Ralph Colantonio.

The following day, Bethesda announced the development of "Dishonored 2" at a press conference.

There have been speculations circulating that Bethesda might have been indirectly announcing delays after they removed "Spring" in the window which now only shows "2016." The rumors concentrate on the release window posted on "Dishonored 2's" official Facebook page.

According to iDigitalTimes, it's not surprising if "Dishonored 2" will be delayed given that it has released only one trailer so far and it's entirely cinematic. Generally, when a game nears its release date, publishers tend to release actual gameplay trailers and screenshots.

Well, let's see. For sure, these will come to "Dishonored 2" soon, maybe in a few more months.

The report suggests that delaying the release of "Dishonored 2" will be a good marketing strategy because if Bethesda will pursue the Spring 2016 release it will be in a stiff competition. One of the anticipated games coming on PS4 on March 2016 is "Uncharted 4." Another first-person action game "Mirror's Edge Catalyst" will also be released at the end of February. Bethesda'sanother game "DOOM" will also be coming out at about the same time.

Meanwhile, moving the release date of "Dishonored 2" behind increases its chance for a lesser competition. Moreover, that extra time will be an opportunity for the Arkane Studious developers to polish their latest game.

Well, despite these speculations there is no official announcement from Arkane Studios and Bethesda Softworks concerning the delay of "Dishonored 2." Let's just wait for their announcement.
