The popularity of the galaxy far, far away is never fading. "Star Wars" fans are very excited to watch the anticipated blockbuster film "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" and gamers are very cooperative in the beta testing for "Star Wars: Battlefront."

In fact, the beta testing for "Star Wars: Battlefront" was one of the biggest betas that took place in the world of gaming. It broke the previous records of Electronic Arts (EA) when it comes to hosting a beta test. The upcoming title has the largest beta test that the company has ever held with over 9.5 million players per their website.

The post revealed that there were nearly 10 million players, who participated in the beta test across PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One. All downloaded the beta test to participate the beta testing from Oct.8 until Oct. 14.

As a whole, gamers spent a cumulative of 1.6 billion minutes playing "Star Wars: Battlefront" beta, which is enough to watch the original trilogy 4.2 million times.

Aside from these, the report also revealed how many times Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader were played during the testing, with the former being played 5.9 million times and the latter being played 5.93 million times.

According to Cinema Blend it's a difficult stat to gauge given that the Hero characters in "Star Wars: Battlefront" are power-ups and not earned like the old Pandemic games, where players who do well are promoted to play as their favorite hero or villain for a short while.

Meanwhile, as we near the title's release date the game developers have worked on new battle modes, Techno Buffalo has learned. Three modes were recently announced and this includes:

1. Heroes vs Villains - It is a 6-v-6 mode that pits three heroes and three Rebel troops against three villains and three Imperial troops. The battle is short and intense, when a hero or villain dies, they will respawn as a soldier to backup the remaining members of the team. The team with the most heroes or villains after three rounds wins.

2. Battles - One can play against another player or AI. When playing against another player, the battle can be one-on-one or one against a team of computer-controlled characters. When playing against the computer, the player has to fight against a team of enemies. The goal of this mode is to get 100 points and give players a way to battle directly against each other rather than on huge teams.

3. Training mission - It is designed to give gamers the feel for how all the game's different moving parts works. This can be played, alone or co-op, online or split-screen, and will help gamers learn the hero character's special skills.

"Star Wars: Battlefront" will be released for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on Nov.17.
